While Lando went to London for Christmas to celebrate with his family, Oscar and I headed back to Australia with our family.

We collected our bags and made our way out of the airport into the warm air of Melbourne. For once it wasn't raining or overcast. It was a nice summer day. Oscar and I planned to arrive on the 23rd so we had at least a day to try and get rid of as much jet lag as possible before Christmas day.

"Where's mum?" oscar grumbled from beside me, tapping him foot on the ground impatiently.

"Stop being so impatient! She'll be here" I wasn't sure if she actually would be, the two of us were just texted on the family chat that someone would pick us up.

So I wouldn't be surprised if they completely forgot about us really.

"There she is" oscar pointed to the white Toyota that had a massive scratch down the side. You couldn't miss it.

Mum got out of the car in record speed to grab oscar and squish him into a massive hug, followed by also suffocating me with a deathly mother hug.

"Hi mum"

"Oh you've grown!"

I groan in response "Mum I haven't grown your just being delusional" she smacked the back of my head before taking our bags and placing then in the boot of the car. i sent a glare to Oscar who was busy laughing behind me.

"Shut up" i mumbled as i got into the back seat, Oscar in the front.

When we arrived home i immediately went upstairs to unpack. I flopped down on my bed with a heavy sigh.

Oh how i hate planes.

"Dinner!" I reluctantly got up from the comfort of my bed. I didn't know who yelled but i knew they'd probably come and drag me out of bed either way.

"Pizza! Yes" i walked by Oscar, taking his slice of pizza out of his hand.

"Hey! Mum she stole my slice"

"Snitch" i mumbled

"Oscar its a slice of pizza, there's more" Mum spoke, Oscar's face turned into a frown.

"That backfired for you didn't it" I heard my sister say, laughing at how stupid Oscar is.

"So snowy i heard you've been talking to that boy again"

My head whipped around to mum who was sat at the dining table, a glass of wine placed in front of her.

"How do you know that?" I slipped into the seat next to her.

"Oscar wont stop messaging me about how you ditch him for Monaco with Lando"

"Oscar stop being so childish you literally have a girlfriend"

"Rain your avoiding the point. Did you two get together?" I diverted my attention back to mum

I knew I couldn't lie to my own mother, either way she would force the answers out of me somehow.

"Yeah we got together but private. Just seeing how things go you know?" She nodded at me understanding.

"Thats good, he seemed like a sweet boy"

"He is"

"agree to disagree. He can be annoying" Oscar said as he took a seat opposite me.

"Good thing this isn't about you then"
