Chapter 24

Uo's eyes widened as she felt Kyo's lips crash into hers. She realized that he was also holding her hand. From the corner of her eye she saw Tohru jumping up and down excitedly. Then she remembered that she and Yuk played a trick on them but hanging a mistletoe over they're heads.

Uo focused on what was happening. Kyo infront of her whos eyes were closed. And the kiss they're sharing... Right now. Suddenly her eyes began to feel heavy but she didn't know why. Her eyelids slowly closed and she found herself kissing Kyo back.

His breath smelled sweet like honey and he wasn't aggressive. Something stirred inside of Uo making her heart skip a beat. She felt it pound inside her chest. The feeling was strong and she felt it towards Kyo... Is this what love feels like?

What the hell am I doing?

After what felt like forever but was only a few moments, Kyo was the first to pull back. Uo opened her eyes and stared at him. He kept out a small breath and opened his eyes. They're eyes met and they gazed at each other.

They're faces quite close. Uo could hear the Kyo breathing. His chest rising and falling. His eyes.. They were full of gentleness.. And something else but Uo couldn't figure it out. 

The emotion in his eyes changed abrubtly. He let go of Uo's hand and stood up.

"Kyo?" Uo started. "What's wrong?"

He didn't respond. His eyes darted around the place until it landed back on Uo.

"Kyo?" Tohru whispered. "Are you ok—"

Suddenly Kyo shut his eyes then turned around and ran inside the house. Uo could hear is footsteps pound up the stairs. The sound of the roof door slammed closed and echoed throughout the house.

"Um let's not slam the door now!" Shigure called from the kitchen.

"Try telling that to Kyo." Yuki muttered.

Uo sighed and closed her eyes. Her chest heavy with guilt and despair. Why would I ever think he would feel the same way?

"Uo?"

She opened her eyes and saw Tohru standing abover her.

"Yeah?" Her voice croaked.

"I'm sorry." She whispered. "This was my fault.. I shouldn't have forced you both to do that."

Uo shook her head. "Its not your fault, Tohru. Don't be sorry."

She nodded slowly then turned away.

Yuki walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her small body. "Its been a long night." He whispered. "Let's all get some rest."

Uo and Hana followed Tohru to her room where they will be staying over night. Yuki kissed her goodnight and left the room.

"Do you think Kyo will be okay?" Hana asked.

"Yes I'm sure." Tohru replied. "He just need some time alone."

Uo looked up at the ceiling. Somehow above was Kyo sitting on the roof. Probably thinking the same thing what Uo is thinking...

Nothing's gonna be the same again...
