Failure is not the opposite of success, it is a part of it.
-ZEDQAitana's POV
"Alpha's still going to win it all this year."
"Well duh."
"I hope B pulls Oberdorf."
"What's up with your favoritism with that kid?" Leah laughed at Roord.
"She's going to fit in best. She's already predicted to be top of her class just like the rest of us." Jill argued for her friend. She was rather adamant that out of all of the first years Lena was the choice to make.
"Aita what do you think?" Rolfo asked me softly looking over.
"I think you should all shut up about it. Come one Jill, if you wanted a say you should have joined a different squad. Alpha is the best because of Blair and her choices." I rolled my eyes at the admission.
I didn't want to risk it. I matched with Alpha squad because I was with Blake. I didn't want a conflict of interest. Besides she told me I'd be safe on her sister's team. Blake told me she'd be the best lead for me as well. I agreed. Blair cared about me.
"Whatever Bonmati. You regret joining this team at times." Jill huffed out mad at my response. Jill annoys me, but I don't hate her and Fridolina is my bestfriend along side Ingrid.
"You asked."
"You're an ass."
"I'm nice I'm just honest."
"You're a little sh-."
"I heard you gave the hard sell to Lena Oberdorf. Roord we don't scout. I make the decision on this team." Blair came in with a smirk on her face as she gave the Dutch girl a shove.
"Speaking of a real ass." Jill stuck her tongue out at Blair who placed a pack of vodka seltzers on the table.
"I have a nice ass, but I am not one." Blair walked over slinging an arm around Leah's shoulders pulling her in close from behind. The darker blonde team lead popped a can open and began drinking.
"What are your thoughts on the new class?" Leah asked her as she leaned back in her arms. If I didn't know any better I'd think that they were a thing.
"It doesn't matter. Aita is ranked number one at the end of last year. Jill's annoying ass is number two. Leah ended third in the academy and Fridolina finished fourth. I may be losing Leah this year, but that just tells me this is an issue to worry about for next year."
"Lazy."
"What did you say Aita?"
"You're lazy Blair." I snickered as she dropped her arms from Leah's body. She zoomed over to me and picked me up by my ankle holding me upside down.
"I should hang you over the mountain."
"You won't."
"No, despite hating each of you I would never hurt you. Especially not you." She swung me back on my feet. Blair leaned into whisper the final sentence in my ear as well. Blake and I couldn't be very obvious during my first year. Not that I was the only one who was dating a team lead.
Ellie Carpenters been sleeping with van de Donk for quite some time. Who knows what they were up to over the break.
Everyone else in our class was single. We actually had the most heterosexual year. Most would assume that we all are straight except I'm not and some of the girls know about Ellie and Danielle, but if no one makes a big deal it'll be fine.
