TEMPTATION

We decided to tell our family tonight for dinner. Jane asked her mother to make dinner. She invited everyone but her father. My adoptive mother and biological mother along with my half sister would be here. She already had one of my kidneys which Jane was against it. Jane held her lunch down and I had given her a pill that wouldn't hurt the fetus to deal with her  nausea. Angela arrived early to cook.

"MA I want to tell you something, but you cannot tell Cavanagh or others. Korsak, Frankie,  Frost will be the only officers to know.  Will you be able to do this for me not even pa is to know?"

" Yes your scarring me." " I will let you know during dinner and stop looking at me that way. I am going to go take a nap."

Jane left and Angela came to me asking me if she was pregnant. If I lied, she would know because I break out in hives. This started ever since I lied for my adoptive father for lying for him for cheating on my my adoptive mother.

"Angela it's better if you wait.  Please leave my office .I have alot of work to do before everyone arrives. "

I bit the bullet for now and took a deep breath. I continued working.  Everyone arrived and Jane was up at the kitchen table. I let her know about Angela and my conversation.  She said her mom was a like a blood hound about pregnancies.

"Why are we all here sis?"  "Tommy I found out earlier today that I am siz weeks pregnant.  Dad isn't to know nor anyone else not present. Maura has set me up with a ob gyn appointment tomorrow during my lunch hour. We are going to raise the baby together. "  " Whose the father and does he know." " Tommy yes and it's Casey.  Maura spoke to him earlier while I was asleep. She told him about us as well. He knew we always had feelings for one another beyond friends.  I spoke to him this afternoon.  He doesn't want anything to do with this bundle of joy inside me. He is having his lawyer draw up paper work that relinquished his parental rights. Maura will be the other parent. We will be married by the justice of the peace on Friday at 1: 15."

Everyone was happy for us and hugged me. My mother touched my stomach without asking. Hope asked if she could touch my stomach and did once I said.  Tj was happy to have a cousin. Frankie informed us his girlfriend Laura was pregnant too. We were happy for him too. My mother was overjoyed for us four.She would have three grandchildren.
The adults who could drink alcohol had champagne. Maura and I had apple cider. Everyone left around seven thirty. We went to bed happy and tired. Maura laid by me and spoke to our unborn child before we fell asleep.

The following morning I had morning sickness again.  Maura maid me a smoothie which I kept down. We left for work together.  We arrived and she went downstairs and I went to the bull pen for roll call and to be updated on cases. We still had not caught the serial killer.  Korsak took me aside and asked me when I was going to tell Cavanagh.  I told him when I started showing more.  He didn't agree with me but said he would support my decision.  He did go over the cons which Maura and my mother already had with me yesterday.

The three of left to go search for more clues on the serial killer in hopes we would solve  these opened cases.
