Frozen in Time

Chapter 25

"Where are we anyway? I mean this is way too gross to be a coffee house!" Hanna said.

"Looks like we're in some abandoned storage space in the back of the coffee house," Spencer said.

"So if it's abandoned them who's footprints are these?" I asked.

Just then a loud squeak was heard from the left of us.

"What was that?" Emily asked shaking.

"I don't know," Spencer said.

"What do you mean you don't know? Your the know it all!" Emily said.

Here it goes. She was shutting down. She was going into panic mode.

"Hey! I'm not a know it all! I'm just trying to help us figure all this out!" Spencer argued.

"Well you can't figure us a way out of this one now can you?"

They were going at it now.

"I'm sorry, would we even been able to get to New York if it wasn't for me?"

"Oh that's right, because the little Hastings daughter with all her Hastings wealth and her Hastings life has to be in control! Not everyone has a cushy pile of money to sleep on every night. So don't go around waving it around in people's faces, like it makes a difference who you are, because it doesn't. And for the record, I didn't even want to come to New York anyway!"

"Guys!" Hanna protested.

"Then why did you?" Spencer asked screaming now.

"For Alli!" Emily yelled so loud it echoed off the cement walls.

"Enough!" I yelled.

"It's bad enough we keep thinking someone's in here with us, we don't need people splitting up! We need to stick together!"

Spencer just stared at Emily as she chewed her lip trying not to saying anything else.

Squeak squeak

"That was like shoes," Hanna said.

"Wet shoes," I pointed out.

Squeak squeak

"There it is again," Emily whispered. She made a bee-line for the door.

Suddenly a shadow stopped her, "why leaving so soon?"

I stood there pondering the voice. Hearing Emily's breathing get louder by the second.

It came to me.

The shadow was Noel Kahn.

Standing there I remembered the Halloween before last. It was a Halloween I will never forget.

No matter how hard I try.

I had a huge crush on Noel at the time, so when he invited Alison to his Halloween party and told her her friends could come too (that meant me, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily) I was ecstatic. A party a Noel Kahn's!

That Halloween we went to his party and Alli just deserted us. We were left to socialize with all the jocks and 'Alison kind' with no help. Though, I can't say it was the first time Alli ditched us.

We eventually got a text from Alli begging for help. She sent us an address, and said to come quick.

When it comes to Alli we had no idea what we were up against.

The address took us to the haunted house. You know, every neighborhood has one! A house that's freaky enough in the daylight, but when it's dark out its ten times freakier (especially on Halloween!) That's where we had to go. Of all places for Alli to get herself into trouble.
