The first week of March was nice, Mapi toured the Nation's League trophy with Spain and then returned to Barcelona with a few days to rejuvenate before going back into club football.

Those days consisted of light training, but also her and Kaia sat at the island in the kitchen and finalising the details of their wedding out. The placement settings, the chair colours, the flowers and more.

It was all quite therapeutic because they liked the same things, previous spoke through it thoroughly and both imagined the same type of elegant wedding in their minds. They already decided which traditions they want to include in their special day, which people they want for certain roles etc. and the colour codes.

They were both pretty laidback in terms of their guests and what people were allowed to wear and do and bring. They didn't want to control everyone or demand no children at the ceremony or anything else uptight. They wanted their day to be one everyone enjoyed and could look back on happily.

Expect there was one thing on Mapi's mind as she slowly dragged the stack of unwritten invites towards her. "Um... bebé."

Kaia takes a glance over at the invites before looking back to the checklist she's writing on; confirming the flowers for the ceremony have now been ordered. "You can start writing them if you want." She mutters, assuming that's what Mapi's questioning tone is about.

But Mapi purses her lips as she looks down on the blank page which is definitely infused with silk with how soft and thick it is. "I was actually going to ask... are we still inviting Mariona?"

Kaia's pen stops in an instant and she looks over to meet Mapi's curious eyes. "Baby, she's one of your oldest friends." She reminds her.

Mapi shrugs and then sighs. "But she'll have a plus one option, which means her girlfriend will be coming too. Leah is going to be there and when she's sad you're sad. So I am fine not inviting one of my friends if it'll ruin the day for you." She explains.

Kaia smiles gratefully and leans over the small space to kiss Mapi on the lips. "Thank you for being so thoughtful, but one person isn't going to ruin our day for me. I promise. And I want your friends there even if I don't want to speak to some of them... you're letting me invite Bruno so it's only fair." She reminds her with an amused chuckle.

Mapi groans loudly at the mention of that Italian man who loves to make fun of her just because he thinks it's funny. He's one of them. "That's different, he's your uncle." She argues.

"Married in." Kaia makes that point clear. "Start writing the invites if you want, and write one for Mariona. I'll give Leah the heads up." She urges.

"Gracias." Mapi releases a breath she didn't know she was holding, but she's glad Mariona can still experience the wedding afterparty with them all. "We're a bit late on getting these out." She realises while checking the date on her watch.

"Everyone who's invited already knows basically, these are just formalities." Kaia reassures.

Mapi chuckles. "And something my parents will proudly stick on the front of the fridge."

"Exactly." Kaia chuckles back happily.

After a good away win in the first leg of the Copa de la Reina semifinal, another scan was scheduled for the baby.

But this one was special, it was at a smaller private hospital that specialised in safe and accurate 4D ultrasounds. They were going to see their baby properly, see his features and each of his fingers and toes, all of him.
