"Skiing is like most dangerous sport for the knees!" Emilia stresses as she follows Kaia out onto the balcony. "Do you know how many skiers a year suffer from ACL injuries?"
It was the next morning, and although group dinner was a little awkward for some, they still decided they'd continue with their shared schedule.
"No, but you clearly do." Kaia deadpans as she crouches to light up the fire pit. "We're not going to be going eighty miles an hour down the hill, just the practice slopes up near the restaurant." She reassures. "Come on Em, we're in Switzerland, St. Moritz. You have to put on a pair of skis or you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
"Peer pressure isn't nice." Emilia points a finger over to the brunette, but she immediately sighs in defeat. "Fine, only because everyone else has agreed to go. Even Alexia which surprised me."
"She's snowboarding, and so's Mapi." Kaia relays. "They can skateboard pretty good so they think it'll be easier to control."
"Makes sense." Emilia hums.
"It does." Kaia agrees, finally getting the fire lit and she sighs happily at the heat. "So... four days until the new year. Prolonging that conversation isn't going to make it go away." She hints.
"I'll talk to her about it, I'll tell her the moment there's an official bid for me." Emilia assures.
"Atléti will be very quick on you." Kaia warns. "If you don't tell her before New Year's Day, she'll find out on her own. A lot of her friends are on that team-"
"-ok, ok, I get your point." Emilia interrupts her. "I'll um... I'll tell her when we're skiing."
Kaia snorts in amusement. "Why? So you can slipstream away from her if she takes it wrong?"
Emilia doesn't hear the joke, and her eyes widen. "Do you think she-"
"-no." Kaia stands up and turns to the blonde with a smile. "It'll be the best news she's heard all year. She loves you a lot, and you need to start confiding in her because she wants to be there for you but at the same time doesn't want to rush you."
"I love her a lot too." Emilia replies with a far off smile. "And even though I'm making this decision for my career, the idea of living so close to her makes me feel all giddy."
"Damn, we're going to be seeing a lot of you, aren't we?" Kaia chuckles, but she loves the pure happiness on Emilia's face.
"Bebé," Mapi bursts through the glass doors with Jill not far behind, the Dutchwoman clutching Kaia's unlocked phone. "One of the horses just kicked its trainer in the leg!"
"One of ours?" Kaia asks in worry.
Mapi shakes her head and begins to hold back her laugh. "No, but your mamá filmed it and the guy was absolutely floored." She explains as Jill gets the video up while also laughing. "He's totally fine, stood up pretty quickly."
Kaia and Emilia both step closer to watch the video Jill turns for them, and they see a random chestnut tied to the side of a horse box, and it kicks out the moment the guy brushing it walks around it's backend.
The snow doesn't help the guys fall, and both Brit's purse their lips to not show their amusement as he comes to a skidding stop on his arse before getting up and shouting at the temperamental horse.
