"I..I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM SMILE SOME MORE.."

---¤𖠁¤---

Letting out a muffled yell into her pillow, she flushes a bright pink in embarrassment, still mortified from luncheon with Helaena. She had made a complete and utter fool of herself. Instead of being calm and collected, maybe make a witty jest here and there. She had frozen, then stuttered and blushed the rest of her way through the meal. She probably looked like a fool! Why could she not be witty? Or as smooth and all knowing like the other Ladies of the Court? They would know what to do and do it flawlessly.

Feeling Minisa's gentle rubbing of her back, she lets out another muffled yell into her pillow, wanting to sink into her bed and never come out again. Pouting deeply at the comfort, it did little to make her feel better, only made her recount the embarrassing meal. She wished to do good. She wished to make a good impression, to be liked. She always struggled in Oldtown, with Ettore often entertaining his squires, she was left to scrutiny. The Red Keep and King's Landing, in a way, was her redeeming herself for all her faults in Oldtown⎯the inability to fit in and be a proper Lady in the eyes of the Realm.

"Tis' not too bad." Minisa tries to comfort, "I am sure others have had worse conversations with the Queen."

"It was mortifying, Minisa! I just stuttered and blushed, like some kind of fool! Have Ermo dig me a hole so that I can be buried in it rather than in my shame!" She argues, cringing at the memory.

"Truly, tis' not too bad. At least you did not trip and fall, like you had done with Ettore that one time." Minisa counters, though it only makes her feel worse.

"No, but I looked like a fool. I was a stupid, stuttering, little fool! I do not wish to be remembered as a fool. I wish to be liked, admired, to fit in." She whines, her voice a little childish. "This will haunt my dreams now!"

Lifting her head up from her pillow to look at Minisa, she could tell by the look on Minsia's face that she looked horrible. Glancing over to her mirror, she cringes at her reflection, looking as horrid as she felt. Her hair was a frizzy mess, strand all over the place. Her cheeks flushed a soft pink and her eyes red from burying her face into her pillow. Tugging a pillow close to her chest, she rests her chin on the soft linen, staring up at Minisa. A familiar teasing glimmer in the older women's eyes.

"Why do you care what she thinks of you, hm?" Minisa asks, a hint of a smirk tugging at her lips.

"I..I, uh, well." She stutters, struggling to come up with an believable enough answer. "She's the Queen, that tis' why!"

"Oh, not because you wish to make a good impression on her? Or..Mayhaps because you find her pretty?" Minisa asks, a soft teasing smile on her lips.

"No! Tis' only admiration for how graceful and proper she is." She argues defensively, "She is the epitome of grace and what a Lady, wife and mother should be. I am not, tis' nothing more than that."
