| Imagine |

Letting Buck leave in the first place was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I never forgave myself.

Not even when he got a weekends leave to England with Bucky. I was so happy, but frightened to see what had become of the man I fell in love with.

I was terrified to say the least.

Even so, I had made myself go to the train station. Here I was, waiting to see the love of my life. If he was still in there.

The train pulled up and my breath hitched in my throat. Time was ticking, I was anxious.

I took deep breaths as I watched soldiers exit the train. I looked up and down the platform, he wasn't there. My heart sank, tears gathered in my eyes but they didn't spill.

I watched as people boarded the train and it took off. "No, no, no" I whispered to myself as I stepped forward, the train drove off and I stood there.

Alone. Confused.

"God— you're the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on" his voice made me freeze and I spun on my heel.

Seeing him standing a few feet away from me, tears in his eyes staring at me like I was a ghost.

"Gale" I cried out and ran up to him, he extended his arms and I threw myself into them, he hugged me close and didn't let go.

He couldn't bring himself to let go.

He had gotten off at the end of the trains platform, but when he had seen you, he had to stop— reality hit him, you were alive and well and he was lucky enough to have you in his life. There, waiting for him.

"Marry me" The words slipped from his mouth, I pulled away and cupped his cheeks, taking in his appearance, feeling the warmth in his cheeks.

"Oh, Buck" I whispered, Gale leaned his forehead against mine. "Marry me here and now. I don't want to wait— I can't go back knowing I haven't made you my future" Gale continued.

"But Bucky isn't here—""—Who isn't here? I've been watching you two reunite for the past five minutes, Y/N" Bucky's voice made me smile and I bit my lip.

"Alright. Let's do it. Make me Mrs. Y/N Cleven" I say and watch as Buck smiles widely before kissing me.

His lips are rough and dry, but his kisses are sweet and gentle, still he hadn't let go of me. Keeping his arms locked around my waist, as if to make sure I wouldn't slip away.

"I have never been happier" Bucky cries and both Gale and I pulls away from the kiss and laughs, still our eyes are locked on each other.

"Goddamnit I love you, Y/N" Gale half whispered. "Let's find you a dress and a priest" Gale added before sliding his hand into mine, intertwining them.

"I got the dress, you find the priest" Bucky called out and shoved Gale out of the way and swooped me into his arms. "I'm so excited about this, I'm gonna find you to the most beautiful dress in all of London" Bucky insisted.

"Be safe, meet us at the nearest church" Buck called out, I laughed as Bucky whipped his hand around, dismissing Buck's words as he tugged on my hand to get out of the train station.

"Sure. We have work to do, let's go" Bucky called out and as I was pulled out of the station, Buck was left smiling after us as he watched us bicker back and forth on where to go to look for a dress.

An hour passed before we found the perfect dress. We hurried to the church and Bucky carried the end of my dress in his arms behind me.

"We're gonna make it, stop stressing" Bucky half shouted as he held my dress in his hands.

"Bucky, walk me up the isle?" I asked breathlessly as we stopped at the doors of the church. "It would be an honor" Bucky said with a smile.

The doors were opened and Buck stood at the alter, a huge smile on his face, both happiness and relief showing.

Our I do's sealed a marriage full of love, need and affection for each other.

Buck could go back to war knowing he had married the woman of his dreams and that created hope for the family he so badly wanted to create once the war was over.

And boy did he get the family he always wanted when the war was over.

He survived Stalaag camp. He survived everything in order to get back to Y/N.

Despite everything he had lost, he gained a beautiful family, many children and a happy marriage.
