Location: Afrika

Having to land in Afrika after another dangerous mission was not your idea of a relaxing night.

Not to mention that the rescue teams weren't there when you all landed.

Some began to make cheap shots at one another because of the heat and the frustration, hell even you were frustrated and out for blood.

A woman stranded in Afrika, with nearly hundreds of men— not a good match.

Another pilot were pushing your limits, sending you hinting looks, hinting remarks and proceeded to grab at you, anything he could touch— he would.

He wasn't the only one.

Though most of your somewhat friends had your back, keeping the disturbed men at distance.

The group with the famous Bucky and Buck, stood by their shops, talking in silence, watching everyone from afar.

They knew it was a matter of time before things would get too heated.

"Back of!!" You shouted as you turned abruptly on your heel and ripped your arm out of a guy's hold.

Buck watched you as you pointed your finger at the guy's face, warning him that you would dent it, in a heartbeat if he continued.

Buck felt somewhat bothered by the way you were harassed, he never really spoke to you, you had hung out with them a few times but that was it.

"Y/N is gonna kill someone before we get picked up" Bucky commented with dread as he watched where Buck was looking.

"I hope she does. She's been grabbed more times than I can count and we're only been here for 18 hours" Buck said, still not taking his eyes off of you as he watched you leave the man who harassed you.

You stormed past people and went to seek a moment alone. You walked to the furthest plane and leaned against it when you found silence.

"We should take her under our wing" Bucky said and nodded his head seeing it was a good idea.

"I'm not sure she would believe our good intentions though" Bucky added with a cackle.

"I'll see what I can do" Buck said, he pushed himself off of his plane and walked off in the same direction as you had gone.

When he spotted you, he stood still for a moment. Reading your facial features and your body language.

Approach or do not approach.

He decided on the first and went over to you, leaning next to you in silence.

"What are you doing here, Major?" Y/N asked without looking at him. Keeping her eyes closed and her head tilted back against the firm metal.

"Checking on you" Buck answered. "You okay?"

"Peachy" You remarked without a look once again.

"Don't let them get to you" Buck said, he meant it in the best possible way and even so Y/N knew that.

"I try not to, but it's hard" Y/N said and finally looked the major in the eyes. His eyes locked with hers and he felt drawn to her.

Instant love.

"We have your back, Y/N. Just come to us when it gets too much, they don't dare to do anything when we're around" Buck said, offering some kind of peace for the woman.

"Thank you" Y/N responded and smiled up at him. A genuine and thankful smile.

Later that evening, when you returned to the others, you sat down in between Bucky and Buck, seeing the hungry eyes on you settle down as you claimed their protection.

"Good girl" Buck muttered to himself under his breath as he watched his comrades indeed settle down.

Each of them had been ready to fight for the honor of offering her safety in the night.

Buck watched you nodding off after a while, yet every time your head tilted forward because of the deadweight of your sleepiness, you woke up.

He sighed and eyed his friends, each of them asleep, Bucky too.

"I got you, Y/N. Just get some sleep, you're safe" Buck offered, he knew there was a big chance that you would decline his offer.

But much to his surprise, you eyed him and scooted closer to him, and put your head on his shoulder.

"Thank you, Buck. You're a good man" You sleepily muttered as it didn't even take you a minute to fall asleep on his shoulder.

During the night Buck had kept his word, securing the you were safe at all times and had even shifted position while you were asleep.

His arm wrapped around you as your face was buried in his chest.

That night was one of many, where Buck comforted you, kept you safe and held his word.

Until one night, where you couldn't take his sweetness anymore. You had fallen for him, his actions spoke louder than his words.

You loved him.

Yet before you had the chance to tell him, he went down with his shop. He was gone. Within the blink of an eye.

Bucky told you the news, you stared at him, watching his lips tell you the news.

But you didn't speak, you didn't answer. You just stared at him, you knew Bucky would be out for blood and frankly so would you.

Your ears were ringing, Bucky's heart broke as he watched you stand there, still as a corpse, comprehending what he had told you.

"I love him" Your words made Bucky pull you into a hug. "I never told him..." your voice cracked and Bucky felt himself tearing up.

Knowing just how many times he had attempted to pressure Buck to speak to you, to tell you how he felt.

But he never got to.

The end
