(episode eight ; the battle of starcourt)

THREE MONTHS HAD PASSED since the fall of StarCourt Mall.

Three Months.

The people of Hawkins were told it was just a fire. A fire that killed thirty people in total. The Flayed. But only one who died was not part of that army.

Chief Jim Hopper.

He had died to save his town. He was a hero. Eleven, of course, was absolutely devastated, as were the rest of them, especially Joyce. The Byers Mother had not long after taken El under her wing, officialy adopting her. The girls powers had also simply disappeared since her leg had been attacked by the monster controlled by the Mind Flayer.

Scott Hargrove was a mess to say the least. Although, he wouldn't show it. He had never been one to show his emotions, especially those kind of emotions. But inside, everyone knew he was a complete mess. The mention of his elder brother made his insides scrape, his heart pump faster, his leg bounces wildly up and down. The group tried hard for him to reach out to them, maybe to just cry into their shoulder, but they got nothing. He would not admit that he was not okay, even if it was because of his brothers death.

And to make things a hundred times worse, his Father had completely abandoned his son, leaving the town of Hawkins and leaving his son behind, too devastated over his other sons death to take care of his other one. The Mayfields had obviously taken the boy into their hands, still caring for him. But they no longer lived on sweet Cherry Lane. They now lived in a dirty trailer park, next to a bunch of weirdos. Max' Mom had also started drinking alot, so the two had to take care of thenselves a lot more.

Max Mayfield was clearly upset about the tragic incident with her step brother. Even though he was a complete and utter dick to her and everyone, he was still her brother, and he had sacrificed himself for everyone.

Bill Harrington, Father of Steve and Willow Harrington, had simply disappeared. They hadn't seen the man since he had almost beaten his daughter half to death. He probably would of killed her if her brother hadn't stopped him. The family didn't know whether he had just left them or was laying dead somewhere. Whichever reason it was, the Harrington siblings didn't care in the slightest. They were even slightly overjoyed. But of course they had to play the sad act infront of their Mother and people they barely knew. The man was well-known in Hawkins, so nearly everyone knew of his disappearance.

Steve and Robin of course could no longer work and 'Scoops Ahoy' any longer, the whole Mall being completely closed down. The now tight duo both got jobs at the 'Family Video' store, which Keith from the arcade also worked.

Hawkins was now known as a cursed town. The sign to enter the town was now spray painted in bright red paint. 'Welcome to Hell,' it now said. They weren't wrong though. This was the third time strange and evil things had arrived in this town. It really was hell.
