Maddy's Pov:

As expected, the line was long - longer than usual.

"This is preposterous, we're never gonna get in," Eve grumbled, I furrow my brows.

"Preposterous?!? That's a big word Eve. Where'd you learn that?" I tease, earning a slap on the arm and some mumbling in response. "Besides, the line's not that bad. Look, we've already moved," I pointed out optimistically, though she seemed unamused. This obviously wasn't ideal but I was in good spirits for tonight and wasn't going to let anything ruin my mood.

Suddenly, the girls in front of us turned around. "Hey! Sorry to bother, but do you guys know if the Canucks are coming here tonight?" one of them asked.

"We're hoping they do, but we haven't heard or seen any confirmation," Eve replied.

"Oh man, I'm asking because some girls up front were freaking out apparently. I guess they saw the team in there?" the girl explained.

Eve and I squealed in excitement. "No way! Fuck, I really hope they do," I exclaimed.

"Same, girl," she chuckled. "I guess we'll find out in there. Thank you anyway!"

"No problem," Eve replied.

"Can you believe it? We might actually see them. I mean, it's possible. You didn't think you'd see Quinn up close, BUT YOU DID. You even got a smile and chuckle from him," Eve reminded me, I feel the heat rise to my cheeks.

"Yeah, that's true," I agreed.

"I know," I side-eyed her. Girl needs some weed, or dick - honestly, both.

...

We waited for around 30 to 40 minutes, and Eve was getting agitated. I had barely put my ID back in my purse when she made a beeline for the bar. By the time I caught up, she had already taken a shot.

"Seriously Eve, you could have waited you know," I muttered.

"No, Maddy, I could not have. First of all, standing in that line almost killed me. Second, if the Canucks are in here, fuck, I'm gonna need a load of shots," she retorted.

I giggled. "Amen to that." Placing my bag down, I got the bartender's attention.

"Hi there! What can I get for ya?"

"I'll do 3 shots of tequila and a Sprite, please," I ordered, Eve turned to me with a raised eyebrow.

"Three?! Already? Damn, Madeline. I see you, girl," she teased, I shake my head laughing. I needed a real confidence boost, if I'm going to be finding a man tonight.

"Here you are. Do you want to get a tab started?" the bartender asked.

"Oh yeah, probably should," I said, looking through my purse for my card.
