Maddy's Pov:

I kept my workout light, focusing on my core and cardio. I went to war with myself though, it's literally impossible not to hit legs. I don't feel like I've worked out unless I'm walking back to my car with shaky legs. It was difficult to stick to my planned routine.

Quinn, now that was a surprise. I don't usually go at this time, which explains why I never bump into him. After our conversation last night, I feel so much better. I'm sure he got tired of hearing me yap for so long. He listened patiently, pitching in every now and then. I was hesitant to ask him questions, but he answered calmly and sweetly. He's not at all how I expected him to be, I can see how much of a softy he is. I hope we continue down this path.

I'm currently finishing off a smoothie I picked up. Eve and I decided to go to a sports bar later tonight to watch the game. I haven't told her about the deal I made with Quinn, she's still reeling from last night's events.

I sit on the floor of my living room, Modern Family playing in the background. Honestly, I'd pick the floor any day, it's way more comfortable. I'm showered and dressed in Nike Pros with Quinn's hoodie. Don't ask. Bored, I pick up my phone and click on Dakota's chat.

**Dakota:** Whatcha doing, pretty girl?

**Me:** Nothing really, just sitting on the floor watching Modern Family.

I open my camera, take a quick video of myself, then flip it to show my TV. I send it without another thought. As I wait for him to reply, I go on Instagram and scroll through my explore page. A few hockey posts came up, and there was one with Quinn. I clicked on the picture, and he was tagged. I scroll through his page, stalking him for a couple of minutes. I can tell he doesn't really post for pleasure, it's probably his social media manager forcing him to. Very quickly, 20 minutes had gone by, and I fell victim to falling down the rabbit hole of his interviews. I laughed to myself watching one of the more recent ones, that poor man just wants to play hockey. He does not care about his social media presence.

My finger hovers over the follow button. Is it weird if I follow him? No... right? I mean, we're friends. It's weird if I'm not following him. I roll my eyes at myself and press the button. Finally closing Instagram, I check my messages. Shit, Dakota replied to me 15 minutes ago.

**Dakota:** You're an interesting girl Maddy.
**Dakota:** That hoodie looks familiar.

My eyes widen, and I quickly think of excuses. How did I not realize?

**Me:** Yup! Lots of people own Essentials hoodies Dakota...

I bite my lip and stay in the chat, waiting for his response. It's not like anything happened. The opposite, actually-we just started a new friendship. But then I'd have to explain the whole story-yeah, better left unsaid.

He starts typing a minute later.

**Dakota:** I was going to say I have the same one if you'd like to borrow it someday...
