"So then me and the boys all went after that guy, ready to fight but when we got there the guy just turns around and stares at us and in a second, the boys run and leave me there and ..."
"Stop Louis. I don't want to hear this." I turned around and threw my dirty counter cleaning towel at the annoying boy sitting behind the ordering counter.
"D, just listen to me!!" He whined. I turned back around and turned on the blender just to block out his voice. He had been up with this annoying notion that I wanted to talk for more than an hour.
"Dainaaa, you can't ignore me forever." He screamed over the noise. Despite the distraction from the blender, I could hear him getting several 'shhs' from other customers in the cafe.
"Louis, I'm being serious... I don't want to talk to you. Why can't you leave?" I asked rudely. I knew I was being unfair considering Lou hadn't ever done anything to me, but I genuinely wanted nothing more to do with the boys' personal lives anymore. We weren't siblings, cousins, hardly friends so why would I?
"No, I cannot leave. We're friends. No scratch that. We're family." He got up from the stool and walked over into the employee side of the cafe. He grabbed me by the elbow and pulled me towards him before enveloping me in a bear hug. I wanted so badly to resist but I knew I wouldn't be able to hold out.
"Come on Daina, one more chance for us boys... your boys. Have dinner with us tonight. We want to make up for the assholes behaviour last time." I laughed at his words. I considered his offer deeply. This was serious. I did not need to go over there and once again be embarrassed by the words and actions of Harry Styles, who for some reason had started to consider himself much more important than me. But at the same time, all I wanted was to feel like part of a family again. I did not need to let that asshole take the only family I had away from me... again.
"I'll come. Just if you promise no more funny business." I looked him dead serious in the eye. By funny business, we both knew that Louis' task was to keep his band made and "brother" in check.
"I promise Daina, We're so sorry we let him speak to you that way. You're our sister too and we should have backed you up that night."
"It's fine Lou. You guys couldn't really do much. He is the way he is."
"You know it's not your fault right? Everybody gets dumped."
"I didn't dump him."
"What? You didn't?" Louis' head snapped towards me with shock registering in his face. What was he talking about, why was he so surprised?
"No... He was the one who never called back."
"Wait. Rewind back to the start. Harry said you dumped him and then he never spoke about you again. We all assumed it was a heated fight over the breakup so we steered clear of the topic."
"What the hell? No Louis, I was the one who was willing to continue with our relationship even when I got to New York. I knew it wouldn't be long distance for too long so I was pretty positive we could make it work. But.. I guess he didn't want to work for us. The last time Harry spoke to me was before I announced to you guys I was leaving. He didn't even come to say goodbye at the airport."
"Oh my goodness D..."
"I thought it would all blow over... that he would get over it and realized it wasn't so bad. I thought it was a small fight we were in because he was upset and that we'd be back to normal and missing each other in no time. But... I never again heard from him." I finished.
"Bloody hell. That arse." Louis rubbed his forehead. I guess this was news to him and I was pretty sure it would be to the rest of the boys as well.
