"I can't believe we do so much in a day yet it goes by so fast." May exclaims as we re enter Starbucks the same day for my evening shift. Most days I have morning and evening shifts and on rare occasions night shifts as well. Luckily, I usually don't die of boredom during these shifts because Jacob or May usually accompany me at work.

"Do you want a drink?" I asked May. She looked up at me from her phone and shook her head. She took a seat on one of the love couches placed across the counter.

"I'm poor Daina, don't tempt me." She winked at me causing me to laugh. May pulled out her textbook and opened it to a page which held a bookmark and began reading.

"I always give you drinks for free. That money comes out of my salary" I remarked. She looked up and grinned at me that adorable, selling smile she gives you when she wants something done. I groaned and headed to put on my apron to make her drink. Doing this for a year, I knew what my best friends' usual drinks were. I finished putting whipped cream on May's drink and handed it to her, earning a thankful smile in response.

The rest of the evening past by in a bliss. Our starbucks in the evening didn't have much of a crowd considering it was on the study hall campus and no one was here after classes were over. The Starbucks that was placed on the residential campus however... oh boy.

"Can we go home now?" May whined at me at 8:00 on the dot. I looked at her tired expression and nodded. It had been a tiring day. Exams were coming up and all the teachers were rushing to get the course curriculum over and done with.

"Are you staying over at mine tonight?" I asked her. Whenever May stayed with me through my night shift, and was too tired after to take the train home, she'd sleep over and leave early in the morning.

"Um actually I can't since my parents want me home tonight... so I guess I'll just head to the subway and catch the next train." May's parents lived 30 minutes away from the university so she decided not to get her own place due to the useless expenses.

"May if your parents wanted you home tonight, there was no need for you to stay with me here all shift!" I exclaimed. I loved my best friend but sometimes her caring nature was way too much.

She shrugged and we headed outside into the cool air. I decided to walk May to the station, since it was the least I could do for her so late in the night and then decided to skip taking the bus and just walk home from there. The city was unbelievably beautiful in the night time and it was extremely rare that I wasn't too tired to walk home and enjoy its beauty.

I looked out at the darkening sky and all the skyscrapers standing tall in it. It looked so beautiful. I just wished Harry was there to share this with me. I wished things like that a lot. I knew I needed to stop fitting him into every situation of my life, but I couldn't. It hurt to think about him not being there... even though he wasn't. He wasn't there physically and he sure as hell wasn't there for me emotionally. How he could drop me just like that... I never did understand but I was starting to get over it. I thought he had loved me. I really did. I thought we were in love... though he never did say it to me. That explains it. I'm sure he was using me. He had to have been using me.. that's why it was so easy for him to let me go.

And I hated him for making me love him when he didn't love me back. I hated him.

Morning Sunshine! I received a wake up text from Jacob and groaned in response. I hated looking at my cellphone screen first thing in the morning. It made me squint in annoyance and I hated it.

You: Goodmorning D:

Jacob: Grumpy much?!

I laughed at his text and replied with a short response. I headed to the washroom to do the usual getting ready routine.
