"I hardly see you anymore!"
"You saw me on the weekend.. and you saw me yesterday for a couple of hours. And... you're kind of seeing me right now."
"That doesn't count!"
"They all count."
"No you're working right now."
"Jacob... you see me all the time, what is this about?"
"... You've been hanging out a lot with the One Direction boys lately."
I sighed and leaned against the counter, letting my head droop. I had known this was coming.
"Jake.. I haven't seen them in 2 years and they're only here for a little while. I want to spend as much time with them as I can."
"Yeah... but you've been spending a little too much time with them."
I stopped short and narrowed my eyes at him.
"Excuse me? What does that even mean? Too much time? With my family... who lives across the world... And who are you to determine how much time I get to spend with them or not?"
"Daina, I'm your boyfriend!"
"That title doesn't entitle you to controlling me."
"No but it does give me a say."
"Not in this." I said coldly, throwing my dirty washcloth on the counter in front of him and walking away, to the back pantry. I didn't actually need anything from there, I just needed to get away from him. Who in the world did he think he was? Just because I was dating Jacob didn't mean that I couldn't hang out with other people. He had absolutely no say in that, despite what he thought.
A few minutes later, when I turned back around and walked out of the room, I stopped in my tracks when I saw that Jacob was gone. Of course he was. Because he was too damn proud to admit he was being senseless.

"Are you sure you're okay... you're acting weird." Louis asked me for the bazillionth time, as me and the boys sat there in their living room, watching some dumb action movie.
I nodded my head yes and looked away but at this point even he could tell I was lying. Of course I was not okay.. I couldn't stop thinking about Jacob and our stupid fight. It would have helped if the boys had picked a movie I liked so that I could take my mind off of this stupid thing, but instead they picked the dumbest movie in the world and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get myself to concentrate on it.
I got up a few moments later and walked out of the room, onto their huge ass balcony. I sat down on one of the patio chairs placed there and looked down at the breathtaking view. Of course, you could see the whole city from that one spot and in that peaceful moment, it looked heavenly.
"Daina?" A voice said, barely above a whisper, from somewhere behind.
My head snapped back, ready to tell Louis to go away, but was surprised when I saw Harry standing there instead.
"Hey."
"Mind if I sit?" Harry looked unsure of himself as he said those words and waited for me to respond. I nodded my head and then turned to look back at the gorgeous city, illuminated by the evening light. We sat there like this for at least 5 minutes before he spoke again, breaking the comfortable silence.
"What's going on?" He asked so softly, it caused my heart to wrench.
"I don't... I just don't know myself. One second we were fine and then the next..."
"Who?"
"Jacob and I. He... he's acting like a douche." I shook my head, tears pooling in my eyes. I knew I was upset but I hadn't realized just how much.
"What did he do, Daina?"
"He... he told me that I was hanging out with you guys too much, and when I asked him what the problem was, he just said that it was becoming a little too extreme."
"He said that?"
"Yeah, and then I asked him who he was to decide how much I could or could not hang out with my friends or my family... and he said he was my boyfriend and he had a say in these things." I continued. "And when I disagreed with him, he just got up and left."
"That asshole. How dare he..." Harry began, jumping out of his seat, but I quickly got out of mine and walked towards him, placing my hand on his arm, shutting him right up.
"No... Harry don't. I get where he's coming from."
"Where's he coming from, Daina?"
"He... he's just.. insecure."
"That your hanging out with your family?"
"No... that I'm..."
"That you're what?"
"That I'm hanging out with you, Harry!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in exasperation.
"Oh."
"Yeah. He knows how hung up I was on you. He's insecure about that... about you."
We went dead silent after that. A few minutes later, Harry walked back to his seat and sat down, but I stayed put.
"Daina, whatever his reason might be... he can't keep you away from us... or from anyone for that matter."
"I know, Harry... I know."
"Good."
