Chapter 1: The Jerk

SOPHIE'S POV

"Hey mom, did you see my reading glasses? " I shout while I was making some pancakes for breakfast. "No dear, you probably misplaced it somewhere on you desk, but how will you find it if your desk is that messy" My mom says in a sarcastic tone and I'm sure she saw the eye roll I unintentionally gave her.

Before I could say something my dad interrupts out conversation "Good morning Sophie, I smell some delicious pancakes in making with a hint of argument between my lovely daughter and her equally beautiful mother" My dad says with a very big grin on his face like he has TOTALLY solved and ended our argument. "Darling, tell your daughter to clean her table for once!" My mom replies, this argument goes on until I needed to go to school

"Hey girl!" My bestfriend Abby shouts, "Hiii" I reply it was nice to see someone who doesn't wanna use you for notes or popularity..Abby has been my bestie since 5th grade she always supported me.. I don't wanna brag but I'm pretty popular due to my athletics and my grades but popularity comes with problems like fake friends but abby wasn't one of them.

While she was gossiping and telling me about her "latest" ex I see my biggest rival James, tbh he is a nice guy( just tht he is  never nice to me)  he isnt tht cocky but when it comes to grades he is just like me he will do anything to get a perfect score and yea I might sound jealous but I always end up being second and Mr.Straight A's is always 1st..While I'm lost in my thoughts he comes up to me"Hey Sophie, How does it feel always coming second" He say with a smile, But me being well me gets so angry tht I just don't reply and walk to my class (which makes me look like a idiot)

After English class I go to my locker to grab my maths textbook and well can you guess who comes up to me... JAMES ughh, well anyways i say "what do you want??", the snob replies "I feel like your jealous of me either that or you have a crush on me and your tryna hide it" in my mind I wanna kill him but I reply with a smile " the only one having a crush over here is you and I  know you probably are obsessed with me-", before I could complete my bestie abby come in and says "look nerd I know my bestie is hot and you are really obsessed with her but you gotta give space man", just then his best friend Nathan calls him becoz he has cricket practice the next period so he looks annoyingly at us and runs to his friends.

JAMES' POV

"Yea guys I'm coming" I say and run  towards them.. "Bro, you have been crushing on her friend for such a long time just tell her at this point" Nathan says, I reply " I know I like her but she hates me now I don't know why tho",  " maybe just maybe if you stopped acting like a jerk she would at the least be friends with you" Nathan tells me for probably the 100th time and for the 1st time I say "yea maybe I should try to be nice to her"

NEXT DAY

I hear my parents fighting in the morning which might be unusual for most people but not me, I'm used to it everyday my dad becomes more and more toxic but we can't leave him since it will cause a huge disrupt on our company, I  wish I could tell this to someone but even my bestfriends don't know they just think I have the most perfect family.

I make myself and my sister a toast since my mom isn't really well at this time and I take my little sister to her school and drive myself to school. We are gonna have a field trip at school today.
