The short-haired beauty walked over to us, as she glanced at me once before she redirected her gaze to Daisy.

"I thought you were sleeping at home. If I had known that you were here, then I would have come straight here instead. By the way, who's this?"

Daisy looked at the short-haired woman with a cheerful and happy smile.

So, they are acquaintances? That's great! More beauties to hang around with!

"I'm glad you are here too, Branda. This lady here is someone I met on my way here. Her name is Carene and she lives in our neighborhood."

After giving a brief introduction about me to the woman called Branda, Daisy turned towards me as she spoke,

"Carene, this is my Senior at work and my friend at home, Miss Branda. She is actually my boss's boss, but she is pretty chill with me. I had known her even before joining the workplace as she helped me with my daughter. Also, she was the one who introduced me to work there. She is a very kind woman, and... someone I had been 'meeting' recently."

Oho... so she isn't a casual acquaintance, huh?

Reading the unspoken lines between the words and seeing how wary Branda seemed of me, I could tell these two were really 'meeting' with each other frequently.

Well, it's a good thing if they are both happy with each other, I guess.

Since she is so important to Daisy, it won't be a big deal to give her some respect, even if she thinks I am trying to steal her girl away.

"Oooh. Nice to meet you, Miss Branda. Sorry about my poor manners."

Branda gave a small nod to my greeting as she spoke in a mild voice,

"It's not necessary to treat me especially. Just call me Branda as Daisy does."

Without waiting to hear my reply, Branda swiftly turned towards Daisy, as she asked her instead,

"So, Daisy? Do you have any plans after this shopping? My friends are actually hosting a night out tonight. If you are interested, I can reserve a seat for you too."

Now, that was rude. But, I've suffered worse treatment. It's not like she is going after me aggressively, and who knows if that's the kind of personality she usually has? I must not try to jump to conclusions again.

Daisy smiled apologetically towards Branda, as she replied to her,

"Thank you for your kind offer, Branda. But, I have to look after Katey, so I can't go with you. Just have fun with your friends, I will be fine."

Branda looked visibly upset at Daisy's rejection, as she turned to glare at me accusingly before she turned over to Daisy again.

"How could I do that?! Hmph! If you don't go, then I won't go either. Right, Katie~?"

Daisy sighed in defeat as her daughter happily played with Branda instead.

"Haah... this is why I was afraid of rejecting y-"

"CAREFUL!!"

A sudden shout interrupted Daisy's words, as, in the next moment, her dress got totally drenched with liquid of some sort.

Is that vinegar? That surely smells like it.

Wait. Now isn't the time for that!

"Eh? Aaaaaah!"
