Unexpected

Chapter Eighteen

Luke's POV

We had all gone down to the cafeteria and when we went back up we heard someone yelling and we recognized the voice. Karen was trying to get the person to leave but they wouldn't do we pulled them away from the door. Security eventually came and took the person away. I went to check on Avery and she was gone.

I just walked into Avery's room and she wasn't there. She wasn't in her bed." I told the guys.
"What do you mean she wasn't in her room?" Ashton said. "She hasn't moved in a week?"
"She's not in there. She's gone. She isn't in the bathroom or in her bed. She just left." I said to them getting pissed at their expressions.

We searched the whole floor and couldn't find her. Karen was crying and the guys and I were freaking out. She's been in a trance for a whole week and then just gets up and leaves a hospital like its no big fucking deal? I went outside and across the street. I pulled out my phone and found a picture of her and started asking people if they had seen her.
"Have you seen this girl?" I asked a hundred times, shoving my phone towards them. All the replies were 'no'
Damn it, damn it, damn it. Where is she?

Avery is like Ashton, Calum and i's sister. We love her. We told Michael when they started to get serious we would look out for her always and protect her and now we are failing even though he is being a douche and they broke up we are still going to protect her.

"Ashton. I can't find her outside either." I said to him over the phone.
"Okay we're coming down. The hospital said she didn't check out, so she just walked out of the building."
"How the hell did nobody notice a girl in a hospital gown walked out the front door?" I said angrily into the phone.
"Her nightgown was tucked under her sheets and the suitcase we brought her last week had clothes in it and now it's empty."
I hung up seeing Ashton and Calum walking out the front door or the hospital. They walked across the street.
"So what do we do now?" I asked them.
"Let's go to places she would usually go." Calum suggested.
"Okay yeah. You head to the coffee shop, I'll head to our houses and Luke check the park." Ashton said. We all nodded and went our separate ways.

Ashton's POV

I went to Michael's house first. I opened the front door calling her name. I heard muffling upstairs and I walked up to the noise.
"Ashton! Hey bud! How's it goin?" A drunk Michael slurred falling over.
"God-Michael what the hell as if it wasn't enough you drank earlier and went to the hospital screaming and making a big commotion but you managed to scare Avery away too!" I yelled at him putting his arm on my shoulder so I could help him to the bathroom. He pissed all over himself.
I turned on the water and threw him in there. He laughed and I threw the soap at him.
"Clean yourself up. Then you are going to sober up, help up find Avery and apologize for being a dick at the hospital and scaring her off." I said to him.
"I scared her off?" He said sounding sad. "Hahahahha" he laughed his ass off. I slammed the door in his face and went downstairs.
I texted Luke and Calum where I was and asked them to check the other houses.
Michael came down the stairs sobering up.
"Hey." He grumbled. "Thanks for helping me." He said reaching for another beer. I snatched it out of his hands and shoved him back.
"What the hell? I can have a beer! Lighten up. Jeez!" He said holding his head. He looked like shit. His eyes were dark and he still smelled like alcohol after a 30 minute shower. Someone needed to say this to him eventually, guess I'm going to have to do it.
"Your baby died Michael. You broke the girl you are in love with heart and scared her off to god knows where. You are constantly getting drunk now and being a dick. Straighten yourself up man and apologize to her! You two lost a child before you were ready that's hard I know but a guy almost raped Avery and killed your child and your way of coping is drinking yourself to death? What the hell man? You aren't the Michael I know. None of us know you anymore. You haven't even visited Avery in the hospital. She won't speak to anyone. She wouldn't move or eat. She was devastated when she woke up that first day in the hospital and saw you weren't there and that she wasn't a mother anymore and she didn't have you anymore either. Her life fell apart in one day and she got beaten. If Calum hadn't of found her that guy would've done God knows what to her. You need to stop this. Stop killing yourself by drinking and find Avery and cope together. You love each other. You tore each other apart when you found out your baby was going to die instead of supporting each other through it." Michael started crying. I hugged him.
"I love her. I hurt her. We lost our child. I can't see the same person I loved anymore Ashton. She's gone and so am I. I don't think there will ever be a Michael and Avery again." He said his voice breaking in the end.
