Unexpected

Chapter Twenty-Three

The car ride to the hotel was filled with 'ooooo' and 'ahhhh' and Ashton giggling. I got the pleasure to drive the car. Calum sat next to me and the other boys in the back seat. The windows were down and the boys were screaming out the window woooing and screaming "fuck yeah I love America!"
I was shivering. I was so cold and tired and I couldn't take my mind away from thinking about Michael and how badly I wanted to kiss him on that plane.
"Avery! You went the wrong way!" Calum screamed.
"Damn." I mumbled. I did a u-turn and the boys screamed. "God can yall shut up?" I said half jokingly.
They quieted down, for one second before Luke saw a giant stuffed penguin.
"Oh my god penguins!!! Avery go back! I need the penguin!" He screamed grabbing my arm.
"You already have a penguin, lukey. How would he feel if you got another one?"
"He will be okay he understands my needs!"
"Grosa Luke." Cal said.
"I didn't mean it like that." He said smacking cal's arm.
I pulled into the back of the hotel and we all got out. I bumped into Michael tryin to grab my suitcase. We mumbled sorries and walked away awkwardly.
"So who's with who tonight?" Cal asked.
"I call Michael." Luke said grabbing Michael's hand smiling.
"Okay then Ashton you're with me and Avery."
In each room there were two beds. I got my own bed and Cal and Ash cuddled together falling asleep on theirs. I went to the bathroom and slipped on my black bikini. I like to go swimming at night. It relaxes me.
I slipped on my white cover up and grabbed my phone and key card. I walked down to the pool and set my things down in a chair. I slipped off my cover up and put my hair in a loose pony. I put one foot on the first step and felt the warm water. I rolled my head back and stepped in more. I leaned up against the side of the pool and looked up at the stars.

"Hey."
I gasped, not expecting anyone else to be out here. Except.. Michael and I used to go swimming almost every night. I looked up and saw Michael standing at the foot of the pool.
I smiled, "Hey Mikey."
He came over to me and stood in the pool next to me.
"Whatcha looking at?" He said looking at me. I kept staring up at the sky.
"Planets, stars, darkness, etc." I shrugged. He smiled and laughed at me.
"You know you can ruin a beautiful moment too easily." He said splashing a little bit of water at me.
"Hey watch it! And no I don't." I said shoving his shoulder. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer to him. My hands were on his chest and his hands wrapped around my waist. I pressed my forehead to his and sighed. "How did we get here Michael?" I whispered.
"I don't know." He sighed back.
I looked at his eyes and started to lean in. Just as his lips barely touched mine i splashed water in his face giggling at him.
"See." He said smiling. "Always ruining a beautiful moment." He said splashing me with water. I squealed and dove away from him.
"Michael no!" I screamed as he picked me up and put me over his shoulder. I was out of breath from laughing. He set me down and we stood there looking at each other for a moment.
"I'm sorry I blamed you for our baby dying." He blurted out.
"I'm sorry for blaming you for our baby dying inside of me.." I said.
"We shouldn't of torn each other down."
"We should've supported each other."
"We hurt each other."
"Y-yeah... We did." I said to him my voice croaking.
"Can we forgive each other and just move on... A-as...friends?" He said shocking me.
Friends? He just wanted to be friends?
"Yeah.. Sounds okay with me." I said.
I just wanted him back in my life. And if that meant as just a friend I was going to do it.
"I should go. Calum and Ashton might wake up and freak I'm gone.. Again." I said regretting the 'again'. Stupid don't bring up the past.
I quickly got out of the pool and grabbed my towel. I pulled my hair out of its ponytail my eyes widening as Michael's did too. I wasn't trying to initiate anything I just... I'm so used to doing that...
Why did I do that?
I made a weird noise and grabbed my stuff rushing towards the hotel.
I turned around and waved slightly walking into the hotel.

Friends..
I can do that... No I can't..
I have to tho...

I opened the door to mine, Ashton and Calum's room and grunted. I plopped down on their bed my head in a pillow.
"Well hello there. Where are we coming from now? The pool or Michael's room?" Ashton said. I looked at them and they were making googlie eyes at me.
"Ughhhhhh!" I screamed into the pillow.
"Wait? You didn't have sex with Michael just now?" Luke said. He came in here while I was gone. I shook my head no. Frowning.
"Did yall talk?" Ashton asked.
I nodded.
"Did you kiss?" Calum asked.
I shook my head. And frowned again.
"Well what did you do?" they all asked in unison.
"We talked it out and forgave each other.." I said.
"That's good!" Ashton said.
"As friends." I said too.
"Oh." Luke said as they all frowned with me.
"Well for the next week just strut around in your outfits and bikinis and look sexy so he will beg for you." Calum said.
"I can't. He'll know what I'm doing. It's Michael. He knows me like he knows Pokémon." I said shoving my head into the pillow again.
They all cuddled against me and we fell asleep like that. I woke up and hour later and got in my bed. They were heavier when they were asleep. I was at the bottom. My organs were getting crushed.
