Naina's pov.

I woke up this morning feeling like something bad is going to happen. I shouldn't feel this way considering today is my sister's special day but something doesn't feel right.

"Naina, your sister is already up and ready and you are still in bed. Get up and get ready you'll accompany surbhi to the hotel, makeup artist will meet you there." Mom said from somewhere in my room. Room that I share with my sister.

Last night after her Sangeet and mehndi ceremony I didn't see her come to the room before I fell asleep. I was too tired to call her and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

"Get up, Naina." Mom pulled the blanket away from my head blinding me with all the lights.

I groaned, "Mumma, it's still early."

"It's 9 in the morning." She pulled the blanket completely away from my body, I swear to god I hate whenever she does this. "All the relatives are waiting downstairs."

She goes back to rummage through all the bags surbhi di packed for herself. Room is a mess, packed bags, clothes scattered everywhere and jewelleries. Half of the time I have my heart in my mouth thinking that I will leave the room unlocked and someone will steal the jewelleries. Who? I don't know. So many people come and go since the wedding functions started.

"Where is surbhi di?" I asked.

"Downstairs having breakfast with your dad." She smiles gently and looks at me, "She was emotional this morning and so was your father."

Surbhi di is not an emotional person. She was always a rock. She is not cold or heartless. She is the best elder sister there is, she is protective, she is loving and she has faught with our parents for me countless times.

"Found it." Mom said holding a dress. "Get fresh and come downstairs, quick." She said and left the room.

I shook the gloomy feeling off my shoulders. Today is my sister's special day, she is getting married today. I'll deal with my weird feelings tomorrow.

I drag myself to the bathroom and got ready for the day. I was drying my hair by the dressing table when I saw something shining behind the bottle of body lotion, I put the dryer down and fish out the shiny thing only to be shocked. It was surbhi Di's engagement ring.

This thing alone cost too much because of all the diamonds in the ring. Di's fiance is seriously the richest person I've ever come across. Growing up, we had more than enough money but since dad's business grew more, I saw people around me with so much money. What do they even do with so much money? When I asked dad this question he said after sometimes the rush is not even about the money, it's about the power that comes with it.

I stash the ring in the pocket of my kurti and make my way downstairs. I move to the dining hall and see surbhi di lost in her thoughts beside dad who is talking and laughing with his brother, our rishi chachu.

"Namaste chachu." I greet him with a smile as I walk over to them.

"Namaste beta, Anushka wanted to come too but her exam won't get over until noon." Chachu says. Anushka is my causin who is currently in college.

"It's okay, I called her last night and she told me she'll come by the hotel directly." I say and took my seat beside my sister.

I give her a smile which she returned with a tight one. I take her ring out of my pocket and hand it over to her.

"I-i must have left it by mistake." She takes the ring from me and put it on her ring finger with much efforts. When dad and chachu got busy talking, I moved closer to her.
