"THEY KEEP DYING!" Ivy sighed frustrated. Ivy stood alongside Aro, her hands trembling with a mixture of irritation and determination. She had come to terms with her deadly touch, accepting it as both a curse and a gift bestowed upon her by fate. But mastering control over her powers proved to be a daunting challenge—one that seemed insurmountable in the face of her own mortality.

No matter how gently she reached out, no matter how desperately she tried to suppress the lethal effects of her touch, death always followed in her wake.

"Just one more time," Aro encouraged.

With each hesitant step forward, Ivy approached the human prisoner restrained before her, their eyes filled with a mixture of apprehension and resignation. The humans were brought to the dungeon by the Guard, someone named Arya. Apparently, they were all bad people so Ivy didn't feel guilty taking their life but it was still frustrating her that she couldn't control it.

As her fingers brushed against the prisoner's skin, a shiver ran down Ivy's spine, the familiar chill of death lingering in the air. She closed her eyes, focusing every ounce of her being on maintaining control, on preventing the inevitable from occurring. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape the cruel reality of her curse.

With a gasp of anguish, Ivy recoiled as the prisoner's life slipped away, their body falling limp against the cold stone floor. With each failed attempt to control her powers, Ivy felt a surge of despair threatening to consume her.

Beside her, Aro placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. His voice, a soothing murmur, "It's okay, my dear. We can try again later."

"Yeah, well we ran out of humans," she pointed out and looked down the floor, seeing the six dead humans. She lightly pushed one of them with her dr. martens shoes.

He gently pushed her hair behind her ear. "Well, the world is full of terrible people. We can find more," he assured her but she wasn't sure how long she could keep doing this but she didn't want to disappoint him.

"And what if I can't?" she asked, voicing her unsure thoughts. "What if this just keeps happening? What if I can't be fixed?"

"Fixed?" he repeated. "You aren't something broken that needs to be fixed. I just want you to be able to control this, to make you the most powerful version of you." Ivy still looked unsure so he continued.  "You know, I have met with many talented individuals during my long life but nothing like you, no one who showed their gifts so strongly before turning. When my brothers and I started the Volturi Coven, we were met with many talented vampires. Vampires who we knew would make us stronger but with you," he gently grasped her face between his hands. "I can only imagine the power you will add to us once the time comes."
