Come and Get Her

Vincenzo and Luca are on their way to the family villa, they chatted a bit about matters and business deals that took place in Vincenzo's absence. After a short discussion, Vincenzo sighs and rests his head on the headrest of the car. He fiddles with his tie, until its loose and closes his eyes.

Luca notices his tiredness " We'll be reaching in a few minutes, Capo."

Vincenzo nods.

Once the car stops, Vincenzo opens his eyes.

"We're here, Capo."

"Grazie Luca." Luca gives a smile in response.

Although Vincenzo and Luca have been with each other for years. it always been 'Capo' and 'Luca' between them. They know they can count on each other, but they've settled in this comfortable dynamic now. Whether out in front of people, whether business or whether in a shootout against their rivals. It has always been this way.

But there are times in life, honorifics are dropped and the formality breaks.

A guard soon comes and opens the door for Vincenzo, and he gets out with his coat in his hand. It's when he's walking towards the villa, he hears familiar voices chatting and a vibrant laughter that unknowingly forms a smile on his face. He turns to the direction of the sound and starts to walk to the garden where his mother and sister are having tea.

His mother loves gardening and soon, remembers her daily ritual in the evening to look after the plants she has grown with love and care. The family villa's garden is really an artistic view with different types of flowers. Blue bells, roses, daisies, daffodils, all grown by his mother with great love and care.

A few months ago, it used to be Papa out with his Mama for tea, now it is Cassandra giving her company.

Time really flies by.

His presence isn't noticed by his mother or sister, but the maid does, and she is about to inform his mother when he gestures her not to.

When he is behind the chair, his mother's sitting on, Cassandra notices him and her face lights up.

" Fratello!" she stands up.

Anotella looks back as fast as she can while standing up.

" Mio figlio! What a pleasant surprise!"

Vincenzo hugs her " How are you doing Mama?"

" Missing you all along." she replies.

" Well, I thought someone was chatting and laughing and having a great time."

That earns him a slap on his back. He laughs.

Cassandra jumps in soon, when the hug was broken.

" Fratello!!" it was her turn to hug him tightly.

Vincenzo smiles and hugs back. It's good to see his sister energetic and cheerful as usual.

Meanwhile, Anotella just shook her head at her daughter's behavior.

" How have you been?"

" Very Well!"

" Leave him alone Cassandra, he's tired!" Their mother says.

Cassandra breaks the hug and snorts " Mama! You know he always is a grumpy goose, it's rare that he treats me this nicely, soon, you'll see him locked up in his office with tons of work!"

" Grumpy Goose!?" Vincenzo looks at his sister atrociously and scoffs.

They have a very common sibling-like dynamic. When Anotella and Fabio adopted Vincenzo, he rarely talked to anyone. Cassandra was bright and friendly, and she was the one who initiated the talk, always.

She loves to tease her brother, though.

It's her favorite thing in the whole world.

Their mother intertwines before Cassandra speaks up again.

" Enough both of you! Vincenzo, go and freshen up, we'll have dinner together soon."

Vincenzo nods and smiles while Cassandra looks at him grumpily.

It is then, his phone's notification bell rings.

He takes out his phone from his pocket and checks the notification.

It is then, his smile is wiped away in a second.

It is a picture of Cha Young, tied to a chair with ropes, completely passed out.

Beneath it, is a location and a text that reads.

" No wonder you went to Korea for this pretty lady. Let's see how interested you are in her. Come and Get Her. You, only. Alone."

He freezes.

Anotella feels him tense and says, " What happened, son?"

Cassandra looks at him worriedly.

He looks at his mother and sister.

" Mama, I have to go."

And he runs to where the cars are parked and calls Luca out. He can hear his mother calling him and his sister running after him.

Fortunately, he's right there talking to a worker.

" Si, Capo?"

" Luca, I want you to go to Signora Hong's house and check whether she is there or not."

Luca can sense the urgency in Vincenzo's voice, and he knows this is not the time for questions. So, he does as ordered.

While he's taking the car keys from the driver, Vincenzo has already left with the other car.

Something is wrong, Luca can sense it.

As he is opening the car door to get in, Cassandra comes running to him.

" What happened, Luca? Where did Vincenzo go?"

" I don't know, Signora. I have to leave, it's Capo's order."

" I am coming with you." she says firmly.

" Signora, that is quite unlikely, Capo won't like that idea, everything will be fine."

Cassandra relents.

Luca starts the car and leaves, he said everything will be fine.

But he knows, it's quite the opposite.
