Maria departed following an indulgent shopping spree and a swift dinner with Cha Young.

She texted Luca as she sat in the car to inform him she'll be arriving at the office soon.

Upon arrival, she met Alfonso who escorted her to the conference room, where Capo awaits.

As the door swings open, Maria's gaze lands on Luca, engrossed amidst scattered files on the sofa. Meanwhile, Capo remains fixed at his desk, eyes locked onto the glowing monitor.

"Maria." He greets her, gesturing to her to sit down on one of the chairs in front of his desk.

"Buona Serata, Capo."

She settles down on the chair and Marco sits beside Luca too and Vincenzo speaks.

"You've been updating Luca regarding a man Cha Young has encountered, lately." He states.

Maria nods, hands in her lap.

"Si, Capo, twice only."

Vincenzo nods.

"There's more to the coincidental meeting."

Maria can't help the wrinkles forming on her forehead, mind replaying the encounter for clues.

"You know about Cha Young's fathers death, Signore Hong Yoo Chan?" He inquires.

Maria nods slowly, trying to rack her brain for information, oblivious to where this is heading.

"Jung Hae In was his personal doctor, the one who was ordered by Antonio to kill him through lethal overdose and wrong medications."

Maria looks up at Vincenzo, eyes wide by the information she's been told.

"I beg your pardon, Capo?" She says.

"He's been laying low in Malta, will leave tomorrow morning for Korea."

"I am aware, Signora informed me, Capo."

Vincenzo nods.

"The sole reason to tell you this is to be aware if he tries to contact her again, though that is quite unlikely..." He pauses.

"Because I don't think he knows it's her father whom he was assigned to kill."

Maria nods, trying to assimilate the situation.

"I'll keep an eye, Capo."

Vincenzo nods with a small smile.

"You may leave."

"Grazie, Capo."

Maria leaves with Marco escorting her out.

Vincenzo closes his eyes and sighs before getting up himself to leave for home.

"Let's call it a day, Luca."

The next few weeks are a chaos for Vincenzo.

A shipment to East Asia was damaged due to unpredictable and adverse weather conditions leading to a loss of millions of euros.

Meaning the rest of the days are spent in the office making it home to sleep, arriving after midnight, slipping under the sheets after showering as she shifts her weight onto him, acknowledging his presence.

The relentless rhythm of days unfolds with Vincenzo and Cha Young only talking through texts or the days where Cha Young wakes up first to make breakfast and they eat together.

Meanwhile, in the dim glow of late-night screens, Cha Young's days unravel sordidly alongside Maria.

Her sleep hours stretch like elastic; often stretching till 10 in the morning with an afternoon nap becoming a ritual.
