CHAPTER 9

The wedding function begins, and Alishay, Hala, and Zainab are standing by a table while Rayyan takes their picture. When Saif passes by, Zainab asks, "Saif bhai, please take a picture with the four of us."

Saif agrees, and Rayyan hands him the phone and stands next to Zainab.

Alishay comments, "Guys, Saif bhai and Hala are twinning!"

Hala replies, "It's a coincidence."

Saif says, "Yeah, it is" (looking at Hala).

Rayyan says, "Let's take the picture first, and then we can talk."

Everyone poses, and Saif clicks the picture. Just then, Zayn arrives from behind and says, "What useless work have you gotten yourself into, Saif?"

Alishay responds, "What's your problem? Why are you always rude?"

Zayn replies, "Excuse me? I wasn't talking to you. When two people are having a conversation, it's better for others to stay quiet."

Alishay was about to say something when saif interrupted, "Sorry, guys, continue" (and turns Zayn around by his shoulders, and takes him aside).

Saif asks Zayn, "What did she say that makes you always so angry?"

Zayn replies, "I just don't like her."

Saif advises, "Then don't talk to her, it's not necessary to fight!"

Zayn says, "nvm, now take a pic of me so that i can post on Instagram."

In a while, The wedding function ends, and it's time for Shiza's rukhsati (farewell). Her father accompanies her, and Shiza hugs her mother, crying. Her mother also starts crying. Then, Shiza hugs Zainab, and Zainab's eyes well up with tears, but she controls her emotions. After meeting everyone, Shiza exits with them and gets into a car. As she leaves, she waves goodbye to the people gathered.

Rayyan whispers to Zainab, "It's a tough time i know, but you look more beautiful when you smile." Zainab looks at Rayyan and he smiles.

Their chachu asks, "Shouldn't we head home, kids?"

Zainab reminds him, "We need to drop off Hala and Alishay first, it's already late."

Saif offers, "Chachu, Chachi, you must be tired, let us drop them off."

Their chachu agrees, "Alright, come back soon."

Their chachu and chachi leaves, and Zainab and Rayyan go inside to call out to Hala and Alishay, and then they get into the car.

In the car, Zayn and Saif sit in the front seats, Saif is driving while Rayyan and Alishay sit on the window seats , Hala and Zainab are sitting in centre.

There's silence in the car, then Rayyan suddenly says, "I'm craving ice cream!"

Zainab says, "Same here!"

Then Zainab and Rayyan looks at each other and says together, "Saifff bhaiii plssss!"

Zayn tells them to quiet down, "We'll be late!"

Saif replies, "no big deal!"

Zayn looks at Saif with a disappointed face. Alishay and Hala remain quiet in the car.

They arrive at the ice cream parlor and everyone goes inside to choose their flavors and sit down at a table. Rayyan says, "Zainab is treating us, guys!"

Zainab corrects him, "I didn't say that, you said you were craving!"

Saif replies, "Don't worry, consider it as my treat, I just got a new job!"

Zayn and Rayyan look at Saif in surprise.

Zayn asks, "When? Where? How?"

Rayyan teases, "Now I can buy new shoes!"

Zainab playfully scolds Rayyan, "My dad didn't stop you from buying new shoes, did he?"

Hala smiles and congratulates Saif, who becomes numb and keeps staring at Hala.

Zayn asks, "When did this happen?"

Saif explains, "I got a call in the evening, but everyone was busy, so I didn't mention it. I'm joining tomorrow."

Rayyan suggests, "No way, Zainab and I thought we'd go out for a whole day after Shiza aapi's wedding."

Saif agrees, "I dont mind if its weekend."

Rayyan asks Alishay and Hala when they're free, and they both say they're free anyways.

Zayn whispers to Rayyan, "Wasn't the plan just for the four of us?"

Rayyan whispers back, "Zainab said she'd get bored." Zayn doesn't say anything.

Hala's phone rings, but she looks worried and doesn't answer it. Saif notices and he is sitting with Rayyan and Zayn, and there's a guy standing behind them , Hala looks at him, "That's why you were ignoring my calls!"

Saif turns around to face the boy, then looks at Hala's expression, which has turned pale.
