So, I was able to find what Dave meant with that text. I merged that quote from the locked diary and the text message, and it made sense.
"One's death is inevitable, upon posing a threat, ends quicker"
It wasn't a great thing to say. It was not so friendly. I went to his workplace to interrogate.
Me : Care to explain the quote you sent ?
Dave : What quote? Uhh...I don't know what you're talking about.
Me : The one that correlates with your text to him. One's death is inevitable, upon posing a threat, ends quicker.
Dave : Aaah... It's uhh..... we had a little quarrel. It's solved now!
Me : But why does it heavily correlate with the intention of murder?
Dave : Ok fine. I was lying. But I was told to send it. I acted like his friend to monitor him. I don't know anything, but I know who I was under. Cody James.
Me : How can I trust you? You lied before.
Dave : Pinky promised, I didn't lie this time. You would've caught him even if I lied anyway.
I left. I knew it! Cody had something he was hiding. But he's not speaking up! No matter what, I'm making him confess.
Author's note : Do you think Dave is in for the money?
