Basically, Jacob Bertram lured Kausar into the hall. The hall was painted red since it was built. Naturally, red produces more wavelengths.
Which means red absorbs darkness. It was a perfect place where Jacob could kill Kausar.
He also collected and dumped dried leaves on the hall's floor, so Kausar would think it's an abandoned hall.
He then hid a curved weapon below where Kausar stood. Jacob pulled a string that made Kausar hanged to death with the sharp weapon.
The weapon pierced the nerves on the neck. The sharp weapon was connected to an uncut (unprocessed) semiconductor that also electrocuted him.
The semiconductor had some lead in it, which made me speculate that there were traces of petrol during the manufacturing process.
I think it was during a process called Photolithography. It all makes sense with the suspect list. The shipmaster Cody James and the Nanotechnology Researcher Dave Hilton.
It looks like a pretty sophisticated murder, which requires the labour of many workers. Did Jacob bribe them too? You can't blame them for accepting it anyway.
The cost of living has increased due to inflation. I can't truly blame them. The fact that he planned to kill Kausar 3 different ways shows how much he cares about his reputation and nervousness of its future.
