Jessica

"I wanted to call you."

Bullshit. Everything that leaves her mouth was a steaming hot pile of shit.

"So why didn't you?"

"I didn't know what to say."

I put my hand up to stop her before she went any further. I really didn't want to get any more worked up.

"You know what Demi, I can't do this, especially not right now. I just had a really great opening night and I just wanna enjoy it ok? Thanks for coming though."

I moved past her before she could say anything else to upset me. I made my way to the party inside but I was too preoccupied to even enjoy what was going on. I told my aunt that I wasn't feeling well and would probably head up to my room soon. I decided to go for a walk instead, to just clear my mind. On my way out, I bumped into Marissa.

"Oh there you are..."

She stated as she moved in closer to me.

"Can I borrow your keys real quick? I really wanna pee but the bathroom line is long from here to Australia."

"Sure, suite 1517. I'm the room on the left."

I mumbled as I retrieved the keys from my purse and handed it to her. I attempted to walk away from her but she pulled me back by my wrist.

"Hey, you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm good."

I gave her a forced smile before slipping my hand from hers and exiting the ballroom, making my way around the hotel property. I found myself in front of the large pool and I was compelled to just stay there. It was so calm in comparison to the hurricane in my mind.

It was times like this that made me miss my mom even more. Aunt Susan was great but she always spoke in parables. My mom would always lay out the cold, hard truth whether I liked it or not. Right now I could really use a reality check because I really didn't know what I wanted to do.

I had been out here for about an hour before I decided it was best to get some sleep. I gathered my stuff and made my way to my room to get some rest. If I didn't stop worrying soon, I'm gonna get sick. I hurried to the elevators to avoid being seen and made my way to my floor. I welcomed its slowness because the more my mind wandered to the mess that was our relationship, the more tears found their way down my face.

Finally, the elevator signaled that I had arrived to my destination and I somberly wiped my face before exiting. I kept my head down while I got to my room so no one would ask any questions. Out of nowhere, I felt a strong force push me against the hallway walls causing a sharp pain in my back.

"You lying, cheating, hypocritical bitch. How long have you been fucking her behind my back? Is this what you wanted space for? So you could slut around and fuck her?"

Demi?

"What are you even talking about?"

I managed to sob out while she still had me pinned against the wall, snarling angrily at me.

"And you still want to play the victim? You know what? Give me my ring back. I can't believe that I actually wanted to marry a piece of shit like you."

I hid my hand behind my back but she just started to fight to get the ring off of my finger. She didn't care that I had fallen to the ground once she had gotten what she wanted. What has gotten into her?

"Why are you doing this to me?"

I asked while she pushed the ring down into her pants pocket, turning around to leave. She turned around to answer my question. I have never seen her this angry before. It's like she consciously tried to hurt me.
