It's been about three years since Winter and Qibli had confessed their love for each other. They haven't really done much in those three years. Winter, despite neither of them having a job, has been able to pay all of the bills and for all of the groceries and stuff, much to Qibli's confusion. Qibli had asked before how he had so much money, but Winter didn't tell him He didn't want to risk revealing his secret to him, or anyone for that matter.

Winter walked downstairs and flopped on the couch, still tired. He had another nightmare today, making it the 10th one in a row. They all involved Winter being tormented by his parents, with them using gruesome tactics to try to get him to go back to the Ice Kingdom. Winter hadn't really revealed the whole truth to Qibli about his history with the Ice Kingdom. All anyone knew about him was that Winter was a former prince, in competition for the throne with his brother, and then he was banished for unknown reasons. Maybe he would tell Qibli the full truth someday, but he just isn't in the mood to tell him.

Qibli came down after a few moments. He walked with a small limp, due to his talon being injured this morning. Winter still felt bad about it, since it was entirely his fault, but Qibli forgave him, so he felt a little better about it. Qibli walked over and sat next to Winter, laying half of himself on him.

"I know it's a bit earlier than when we usually wake up, but you seem absolutely wiped out! Surely you're not that tired!" Qibli rubbed Winter's arm.

"I'm just getting sick of these nightmares... Why won't they stop? And why are they almost the same every time?!" Winter responded. Qibli pressed his head against Winter's shoulder.

"I'm sure it'll be alright, Winter. Maybe you're experiencing some sort of... illness? Maybe I can find you something to help get rid of the dreams at least, but I'm not sure where to look."

"You don't need to, I think I'll be fine. Maybe it'll go away eventually..."

"Yeah I'm not waiting for 'eventually', just take it easy, okay? I'll go to the market and I'll try to find you something that will maybe help!" And with that, Qibli took his pouch of money and flew out the door.

While Qibli was gone, Winter decided to make breakfast for himself. He went to the fridge and pulled out a carton of eggs. There were only four left in there. He grabbed two and started making his usual scrambled eggs. As he was doing that, Qibli suddenly burst through the front door, making Winter jump. He was back way sooner than he should be, what was he doing?

"WINTER!!! I know I said take it easy but the market is having an awesome event right now and I really want you to come see it!!" Qibli was bouncing on his talons and practically out of breath. Winter was still trying to process the sudden intrusion.

"Okay, wow. So what does the market have going on that could possibly be of interest to me?" Winter asked. He usually doesn't like going to social events, and Qibli knows this.

"They're doing a pride event!" Qibli said excitedly.

"A what?"

"A pride event! You know, for gays like us!"

"Oh! Really? I didn't realize those existed..." Winter thought about what that would be like.

"What, gay dragons?" Qibli joked.

"No, you sand-snorter, the event! I've never heard of one of those."

"Well, they're actually pretty common in other towns, ours just wasn't interested in doing it until now I guess. So, what do you say? Wanna come with?" Qibli offered. Winter thought about it. He's never met another gay dragon before (other than Qibli) so maybe this would actually not be as bad as he's expecting. He also hasn't been outside the house in like, a month straight, so maybe it would be good to go outside again.
