If she was right about one thing, it was that Qibli didn't ever want to use his stinger, especially on an important figure like a queen. He's seen what SandWing venom can do, and it's not pretty.
As Tundra lunged at them, both Qibli and Winter dodged out of the way. She plowed into the snow, turned around and hissed violently. She lunged after Winter, but Qibli rammed into her, knocking her over long enough for them to book it.
"Keep running, Winter! We're almost there!" Qibli shouted, brushing his wing against Winter's. However as they reached the end of the main entrance, they suddenly hit something, sending them flying back. Qibli looked to see what was in the way, but there was nothing there. He tried running again, but he still hit the mysterious object. Whatever this was wasn't letting him out. Tundra laughed wickedly behind them.
"You fucking idiots! I have the kingdom on lockdown right now. Its some old animus magic we've had for a while, and I FINALLY got to use it. I appreciate the effort you've put in to escape me, but unfortunately you will find that it was all for nothing!" As Tundra said the last word, she lunged at them again at a horrifying speed. They both managed to dodge her again, but only barely. They started running into the palace again.
"There has to be another way out! Or at least, some way to break that spell!" Winter shouted, with a hysterical Tundra gaining on them.
"Do you know what the spell was put on?" Qibli asked Winter.
"No, I don't!" Winter responded.
"You know I can hear you right?!" Tundra shouted after them.
"Yes I know! And quite frankly I don't care!" Winter yelled back.
They managed to get to the main area of the palace. Qibli slid quite a lot trying to turn where Winter was going. He wasn't used to ice beneath his talons like Winter was. Unfortunately, that cost him, since Tundra tackled him down and pinned him to the ground. Luckily, Winter headbutted her, helped Qibli up, and started running again.
"Grab my tail if you slip again," Winter advised. Qibli nodded and followed Winter up the icy stairs. Had they not have been running for their lives, it would have been comical how much Qibli slipped and nearly fell again. Although, now Tundra wasn't chasing them. Qibli looked around to see where she had gone, but she was nowhere. Now having calmed down a little, Qibli tried going up the stairs, but the ice was way to slippery. Winter extended his talon to him.
"Here, ride on my back. You can't run in this place, you'll just slip and slide everywhere," With an unexpected amount of strength, Winter pulled Qibli up on his back with only one arm. Qibli didn't realize he had that much strength. It was kind of hot.
"Thanks, love," Qibli said, smiling and wrapping his arms around Winter's neck. Winter smiled too.
"You better keep quiet before she gets even more pissed," Winter responded, walking quickly up the stairs. As they were going up, Qibli heard a small crack behind them. He turned, and found an arrow sticking out of the wall. Not only that, but there seemed to be a long red thing taped on it. It was also hissing. Qibli's eyes went wide, knowing what it was.
"WINTER RUN! THERE'S-" But as Qibli said that, the arrow exploded, blowing Winter and Qibli away. Winter had to spread his wings to prevent them from running into the wall. The stairs were completely shattered, and there was a giant hole in the wall. However, due to the place being on lockdown, that unfortunately wasn't an escape. Queen Tundra was hovering in the air with what looked to be an icy crossbow with that same dynamite arrow Qibli saw before. She was aiming right at them. Winter saw her and yelled at her.
