Lost hope

Chapter fourteen

Her head was resting on my shoulders and I couldn't help but look at her sleeping. She didn't have that nightmare this night, as far as I know and I wake up pretty easily I'd say.

Is it normal to look at someone sleeping? It is, right?

"stop glaring at me" she says with her eyes still closed but with her morning voice as we had arrived. I laugh quietly and she opens her eyes when she realises that it was my shoulders where her head was laying at and not a pillow. "Fuck-" she says and interrupts herself and holds for her mouth when she realises that she just said it out loud. "oh, we don't have a real relationship, Ortega. Don't take it to serious" I say wanting to tease her about her saying 'fuck'. "you are so funny" she replies sarcastically and gets up from her seat.

"we have this party today for me winning my trophy, come with your friends" I say to her as we walk towards the apartment. "I can't, I need to do my university stuff" she replies and I look at her with the 'seriously' look. "cmon it's just one evening. I'm sure Maya is coming either way" I try to persuade her. "It's almost as if you're gonna miss me" she says and giggles. "yeah, keep that bullshit to you." I say.
"see you tonight, Gavira" she replies and goes to her hallway and there we split. So she's coming?

I was so incredibly tired that I fell asleep the second I got home. And then I woke up again 2pm. I slept good at the airplane but it was only 2-3 hours and in total I have had lack of sleep these days. When I woke up my phone had been bombed with messages from Jules and Maya so I took my chance to call them FaceTime.

"good morning" I say to them automatically, forgetting that it's not morning. "good afternoon I'd say" Jules says and I laugh. "i just woke up" I excuse myself. "Are you home?" Maya asks and I get up to go the kitchen. Elías wasn't working today so I bet he was either at the gym or doing something completely different. "yeah, my whole body hurts because I'm so tired of yesterday" I reply. "about yesterday" Maya says and giggles. I knew this would be the topic.
"ask me all of your questions, go on" I say and laugh together with Jules. "first of all, the kiss?" Maya asks and I was as curious as she was actually. "Well it was only for the camera, nothing more" I reply and Maya sighs. "omg, fuck that, how was the kiss" Maya says again and me and Jules laugh. "you want to much details." I say. "but really, it was quick so there is nothing to tell. And as I said it doesn't mean anything" I add. "you two are already good looking together even though you aren't together" Jules jumps in and Maya agrees with her.

"the day I will be with him will never happen" I say then again. We are two completely different person with different goals in life and so on. "about that, both of your boyfriends were asking me about you all the time" I say and Maya starts to giggle as Jules didn't really understand what I meant. "I'm meeting up with Fermin today actually. I missed him" she tells us. They were officially a couple and a cute one. "I do not have a boyfriend" Jules tries to explain but I just laugh. "oh, you do. Pedri is totally into you" I reply and this when Maya gets excited. "Juuuulesss, what business are you up to?" Maya asks as she teases her. But she just laughs. "wait I wanted to ask you, Maya are you going to this party tonight?" I ask her. "Yeah, Fermin invited me to one, how so?"
"Gavira invited me so I don't wanna go alone. Can you come as well Jules? I don't want to be third wheel" I ask Jules. She was back from her family's company business. "sure" she replies.

"are you alright?" I ask Elías as he is laying down in the couch. I was fixed to go to the party but Elías wasn't feeling well since he came home. "it's just fever, I'm good Luna" he says but I can clearly see his pale skin on the face. Elías has since we've been kids not a person who becomes sick often. But always when he did get sick, it was serious. "it not 'just' Elías, I'll go buy some medicines for you quickly" I say to him since the pharmacy was near us. I give him a blanket to not freeze and take on my shoes later. The I text in our group chat with the girls that I will miss the party and that I'd explain later.

When I come back Elías has fallen asleep but once I feel his forehead he's still warm. Mom used to be so good at this. So I take some water and some of the medicine that I bought him. "Elías" I quietly say as I pat him. He slowly opens his eyes and I give him water and medicine. "Aren't you supposed to go?" He says and I could hear how tired he was. "you suck if you thought that I'd leave you in this condition" I say and put a smile on his face. He is my only family member and I'll never leave him if that means that I have to give up something. In this case it was just a party that Gavira had invited me and I'm sure he doesn't even care. "get some sleep Elías" I say as I pat him on the shoulders and get up to change back into my normal clothes.

15 minutes passed. 30 minutes passed. 1 hour passed. And the time went on as she didn't come. Maya and Jules were here but I had no clue where she was and what she was doing. She did in fact say that she'll come and Anna had informed her that she kind of needed to come since we were celebrating my award and paparazzi's would be here. But she didn't.

That's not even the worst part. As the party was coming to its end I got photos sent from Anna to me. It was Ortega. She was fixed with clothes and makeup and everything but she wasn't here. Meaning she was busy doing something else. When we clearly said that she needed to attend this party.

"I'm leaving" I say to Pedri as my anger grows inside me. "what? But the party isn't even over" he relies and gets frustrated. "I know. I've already talked to everyone and I'm tired. See you tomorrow" I say and leave without listening to what he had to say more.

If I start to do something I do it till the end and as good as possible. When someone else doing with me I want them to be fully aware of that. Which Ortega clearly wasn't. And I somehow thought that she wasn't as I thought of her.
