The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) gathered for yet another epic clash on the cricket field. Jassi, a key player for MI, sat in a quiet corner, sipping coffee and flipping through the pages of a book. His focus shifted abruptly when he overheard CSK's captain Ruturaj expressing his discontent to Jadeja about Faf du Plessis seemingly finding another "younger brother" in the RCB team, particularly mentioning Siraj and how Faf was excessively hugging him.
Jassi's brows furrowed as possessiveness surged within him. Siraj, his younger brother in spirit if not in blood, was someone he cherished and protected fiercely. The idea of Faf, a former CSK player and Current RCB captain as well as Brother stealer dubbed by his Jinks bhai, Ro Bhai getting close to Siraj stirred a mix of jealousy and protectiveness in Jassi's heart.
As Jassi scrolled through RCB's Instagram post, his irritation grew with each image of Faf du Plessis hugging various RCB players, including Siraj, like a koala. "Ye 'vi bhaiya' kya kam they? Ab mera Siri bhi chipak Raha hai in RCB walon se?" Jassi muttered possessively, his protective instincts flaring up.
Just then, his phone buzzed with Siraj's call, breaking his reverie. "Hey Jassi bhaiya, did you watch our match? Wasn't Faf amazing? And Maxi's sixes were epic!" Siraj's excitement was palpable through the phone.
"Yeah, I saw," Jassi replied tersely, trying to mask his jealousy. "Faf, Maxi, aur sab log bahut achhe khel rahe the."
Siraj continued, oblivious to Jassi's inner turmoil. "You know, Faf was so supportive during the match. He praised my bowling and encouraged me throughout."
Jassi's grip on the phone tightened. "Haan, I'm glad Faf bhaiya is supporting you," he said, a hint of jealousy creeping into his tone.
Siraj, sensing something amiss, asked, "Are you okay, bhaiya?
Jassi took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. "Yeah, I'm fine, Siri. Just had a long day, you know?" He attempted to brush off his feelings of jealousy, but they lingered beneath the surface.
Siraj, perceptive as ever, sensed the tension. "You sure? You sound a bit off."
"It's nothing, really," Jassi insisted, his tone a bit forced. "I'm just glad Faf is there for you but don't you think you both are sticking too close."
Siraj chuckled softly. "You know, you're the only one who gets a little jealous when I mention Faf bro." His playful remark touched a nerve, making Jassi's jealousy more apparent.
"I'm not jealous," Jassi retorted defensively, his words contradicting his tone.
Siraj's laughter was warm. "It's okay, bhaiya. No one could ever replace you in my heart, not even Faf bro or anyone from RCB." His words were genuine, aimed at easing Jassi's insecurities.
Despite Siraj's reassurance, Jassi couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy every time Faf or RCB came up in their conversation. "I know, Siri. It's just... I don't want to lose you to anyone, you are my brother." he admitted, his vulnerability showing.
Siraj's voice softened. "You won't lose me, bhaiya. We're a team, on and off the field." His words were like a balm to Jassi's troubled thoughts.
Unable to resist teasing Jassi a bit, Siraj added with a playful tone, "Besides, your jealousy is kinda cute."
Jassi couldn't help but smile despite himself, feeling a mix of emotions—relief, love, and a tinge of embarrassment at being teased. "Yeah, yeah, whatever, Siri. Just don't go hugging Faf bhaiya too much, okay?"
Siraj laughed, the tension dissipating into fond camaraderie. "I promise I'll save the best hugs for you, bhaiya."
Their conversation continued, now lighter and filled with shared jokes and laughter, reaffirming their bond and easing Jassi's earlier bout of jealousy.
