Bill arrived to the sounds of chirping and the cool breeze of the forest.
There was something magical about this place, and this was his favourite spot in Gravity Falls.
Funny a demon has such a soft spot, but he liked to come here whenever he was troubled or anything.
He looked around, playing with the grass, hands in his pockets. He thought of Mabel and just now.
His mind was full of her.
What exactly happened to me just now? Will?
Bill decided to walk around in circles, after all, the peaceful surroundings of the forest brought a weird sense of calmness to him.
He felt his unfounded anger and annoyance gradually fading away as he continued breathing in and out deeply.
Then, his eyes rested on a peculiar looking toadstool. It was radiant, a brilliant shade of red with snow white circles decorating its cap. It looked weird yet unique, and as he looked at it entranced, he thought of Mabel again.
Suddenly, just with the glare of his eyes, as if in fast motion, the toadstool withered quickly, and the colour was sucked out from the defenceless being.
He was lost in his own game, as he saw the toadstool bending towards him, now old and withered. It was as if he were in control of its life and death.
He had the power of control and torture and he could make anyone submit to him effortlessly.
He liked it.
His eyes were hot as the concentration on the toadstool increased. He liked this kind of possessive joy. He wanted to possess Mabel, make her his, make her do anything he wanted.
Thoughts appeared on his head, all with him cackling evilly and Mabel wrapped around in chains, against her will.
He shook his head on a desperate attempt to wash away the tortured and tired look of hers.
The mini adrenaline faded away, and as Bill looked at the withered toadstool, he was shocked at his sudden change of mindset.
He didn't like it anymore. There is no joy in this.
He just wanted to spend his time with her and stop doing whatever he was doing.
He looked at the toadstool.
Shooting Star wouldn't like this.
Within seconds, the toadstool regained life as it stood upright, colour coming back. Now, it didn't look as depressing.
It was weird how much Mabel has changed him, and without realising it, he has gradually changed for the better.
Mabel.
I need to get back.
Then he felt his mind changing again.
It was as if a tiny voice at the back of his head was shouting for him to just go against all that he was thinking.
Stop thinking like that. It's wrong.
You are a demon.
And she's a human.
You are different from her.
Different.
You hate her.
Don't you?
---
He sat on the grass, leaning against the bark of the tree, hands clasped against his head, pulling the ends of his hair as the two sides of him internally fought with each other.---
When Mabel woke up, she was a bit saddened that Bill wasn't anywhere to be seen.
She looked around, feeling lost and confused.
Her thoughts wandered to Bill, as she was reminded of his tall frame and protective gestures over her.
She sighed, before finally getting up.
She decided to knit something. As she wandered to her knitting supplies, she remembered the first day, when the duo was figuring the colour of the yarn.
She still remembered Bill tying a small knot over the yellow yarn. She smiled as she took the ball of yarn with the knot and a few other supplies, before she proceeded to her bed.
She believed that whatever it that happened to him or where he had went, if everything is fine and he wants to see her again, he would be back.
She trusted him that whatever he did to her, he didn't mean it. It wasn't the part of Bill she had fallen in love with.
She sat on her bed and started knitting, as she patiently waited for him to come back.
