( Mabel's POV )
Night time.
"Night Dipper," I said, a bit too enthusiastically.
"Back to you," he smiled back.
----
I planned to tell him about the upcoming ball.
I drifted off to 'wonderland', only to be greeted by darkness.
Was I still sleeping? I wanted to raise my arms to wake myself up if I was really sleeping, but my arms felt really heavy and numb. I was unable to lift them up.
My head felt really dizzy too...
Was I awake or asleep? I couldn't tell.
After laying in darkness for quite a while, ( I couldn't tell the time or anything) I could finally open my eyes. My whole body felt like a wreck and I felt dizzy just looking around.
I think it was an hour before I finally was strong enough to support myself.
I looked around slowly. The air was cool and crisp, and evergreen leaves were everywhere. I was in the forest.
The thing was, I still didn't know if I was awake or asleep. However, my senses were alert. I could feel the cold wet ground I was sitting on. The smell of the trees, the sounds in the wild. The touch of the air against my cheeks.
Then I realised I was alone. I started to get scared.
I dared not move or stand. I eyed myself. No physical injury.
How exactly did I end up here?
My breathing got shallow.
I curled myself into a ball, shielding myself from the cold. I was so cold, so cold.
"Bill," I called out softly.
Nothing, no one came to my rescue. To save me from this-
I didn't even know what danger I was in.
And suddenly, something grasped me firmly by my neck. The sudden jerk lifted me off the ground,
I shrieked in pain and raw fear.
The pain in my neck was unbearable. Imagine being dragged across the ground by some unknown force. Unknown.
The friction grazed my skin and I couldn't breathe. It was as if I were being choked. In addition, I couldn't look around or back. But, the unknown pressed on, dragging me and not stopping, ignoring my cries for help.
I heard footsteps. The unknown was a human. He was dragging me to somewhere. Where?
The surroundings didn't really change. Except that it got colder. As if we went deeper into the forest.
Finally, I was released. The unknown threw me to the ground roughly. My arms were bruised from the treatment.
Tears welled up in my eyes. I looked at the unknown with sudden confidence. I was determined to find out who wanted to harm me, find out the questions to my answers.
I blinked for half a second. Were my eyes tricking me?
"Bill? Is that- no, it can't be," I said out loud, as the figure stared at me expressionlessly, towering over me. It was creepy.
It was like the other side of Bill. It was dressed in everything blue, with the same looking top hat. What?
This is definitely not Bill. I can tell from his touch.
Bill's touch is warm and gentle, this person was the complete opposite.
"My dear, you sure do think a lot about your Bill don't you?" his voice had a tone of malice in it, it was as if he were spitting fire at me, tone fierce, harsh and definitely unwelcoming.
I did not reply, but looked at him with fearful eyes. I did not anticipate what was to come.
I still didn't know why I was here!
"Well, Bill is busy tonight, so he sent me for company, well you have lots of things to say don't you?" he taunted on.
"Your thoughts are really messed up for such a feisty little girl like you," he reached over and pinched my cheek.
I felt a numbing pain. This must be real, I wasn't dreaming.
Oh no, help me Dipper.
His boots clicked on the ground as he walked back and forth. He then settled beside me, slinging his arm over my shoulders.
He had a cold aura I didn't like.
Then, I felt a piercing pain in my abdomen. It started at a small tiny spot at first, then it spreaded quickly.
I writhed in pain as I clutched onto my stomach tightly.
It felt as if my insides were being torn apart.
I yelled in agony.
He looked at me, stood up and smirked evilly.
"This is what happens when you mess with the wrong people. I see that you know what to do, you look smart enough for that," he pinched me on the cheek again, earning a few tears spilling from my eyes.
He laughed at my torture, as if this were a form of entertainment.
"If only Bill were here to see this," he chuckled as he walked away, into the distance.
His silhouette was getting blur and hazy, I was still contorting in pain...
Then, a blinding light dazzled me....
---
"Help me, save me!" I woke up with a start.
Beads of perspiration formed on my face, my eyes widened with fear, then sudden relief.
So it was a dream after all?
Good.
Dipper ran into the room, rushing to me.
"Mabel you alright? I heard your cries for help what happened?"
Shock was evident in his features and he looked worried.
I didn't want to make him worry again.
My face softened.
"Nightmare," I tried to give a small smile. I hoped I did.
Dipper looked at me still.
"I will get you a glass of water," he decided and walked out of the door.
It has been a long, long while since I've had nightmares. Bill.
What happened to Bill?
