-(Sophie's POV)
"We all packed up?" Hunter shouted from outside. I grabbed my bag and sweatshirt, then locked the door. "That's the last of it!" I yelled back, walking towards the car.
Sophie, you're going to California! I mean when I lived in New York even then I didn't go anywhere too far. Just to nearby towns, really. So when we moved to Breaux Bridge it was kind of strange because I had never really been this far and not to mention that the weather was extremely humid.
I know that I'll be graduating soon and I think I want to major in either Law or possibly engineering. But when school ends I think I'll take a gap year so I can get myself together. But will universities even accept me?
"You alright Soph?" Hunter said walking around the car towards me. "I'm fine." I said giving him a smile.
"Well ok then." He said opening the passenger door for me.
"Lets get this show on the road!"
-
"All passengers please put on your seat belts. We will be taking off in the next few minutes. Thank you." The pilot said over the intercom.
Oh gosh. Planes. In the air. Flying. Too much weight.
I was starting to get extremely nervous and I could feel my anxiety level building. I was never good with planes. Or flying for that matter. I was sitting by the window and Hunter was supposed to be sitting by my left but he was up talking to the attendants.
Oh look. They just had to be girls. Hunter said something and the Blonde one laughed, a nasally, high pitched one if I might add that in. She picked her hand up and stroked Hunter's arm. I immediately stood up but i was slapped back down by my seat belt.
Hunter scooted away from her and said bye to the ladies. "I swear if this seat belt wasn't so tight, that attendant would've had a piece of me." I said mumbling.
"What's that?" Hunter said leaning closer. I just shook my head. I looked out the window and realized that I would be up in the air in a matter of seconds. And that's when it hit me. No Sophie. Don't panic. No panic attacks please oh please. I took a deep breath. And then another. And another. In and out. In and out. In and out.
"What's wrong?" Hunter said nudging me with his elbow.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Just nervous I guess." I said fidgeting with my fingers. He pulled out his phone and plugged in his earphones.
"Come here." He whispered patting his right shoulder. I scooted over and buried in next to him. When I got comfortable he gave me the left plug.
"Reserved and shy, your average guy,
No piercing stare, just out of shape with messy hair,
But I always figured I was somebody in wait,
And now I'm guessing that my moment must be late cause I'm here"-
We boarded off the plane and made our way inside, walking towards the conveyor belt. There were allot of people pushing and stepping on my shoes and pulling my hair, I was becoming a tad bit claustrophobic.
Hunter could see the scared look in my eyes so he intertwined our hands together and started rubbing small circles on the back of my hand. I then grabbed his left bicep and clutched onto it for dear life.
"Feels like someone has been working out." I mumbled. Hunter looked down at me and winked. And there goes my flushed cheeks.
Don't pay attention to all the people around you. It's ok. You're gonna be alright. You may think I'm exaggerating about this situation, but someone like me who is nearly past 5 feet, in a room full of thousands of people and to make matters worse I couldn't even see over anyone! So yeah, I was kind of freaking out.
