a/n: to just clean some things up:
So when I started this book Katie was 18 and Ashton was 20 and you can figure out how old everyone else is.
In the last chapter, I ended with Katie having to move to Texas and Ashton having to go on tour, later on in this or the next chapter there will be a flashback of them saying goodbye to each other and everyone else.
Now that it has been 2 years since that day Katie is now 20 and Ashton is 22, so it is the 2016 era. Niall and Katie have a flirty relationship at the beginning but they are not together in any romantic way.

~ Katie's pov~
It's been 2 years today since Ashton and I went our separate ways, I don't normally think about it anymore cause the thought of that day leads me to cry for hours.
The band's song came on when I was on the way home from the store and it was all I could think about, walking to the apartment.
Every night, I almost call you Just to say it always will be you Wherever you are
They came out with that song a few months ago, and Ashton wrote it. I never thought that song was about me until Luke told Caitlin it was.
Luke told her that Ashton doesn't reach out to me because he doesn't want me to lose him again if something were to happen with management, that's the same reason I don't reach out to him. I loved him, I still love him.
I have tried dating someone new but it didn't feel rig-,
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING" I yell as my thoughts have been cut off from what I see as I walk in the door and see Caitlin moving the couch.
"rearranging," she says, struggling to move the couch.
" May I ask why?" I asked
"No,I shouldn't be the one to tell you," She said
"Caitlin we have a week left here, we can't be getting a new roommate, remember what happened at the old school when they tried to give us one?
(flashback)
"hi guys'm Anna, and I'm your new roommate," Said the short red-haired girl when we and Cailin Opened the door
"Yeah no," Caitlin says, shutting the door.
*one hour later*
"I swear if it's that girl again," I said walking to the door
"Oh hi, Mrs. Collins.." I said which made Caitlin jump off the bed and dart over to the door,
"Good evening ladies, It has come to my attention that you neglected to let Anna here stay in your dorm, may I ask why" Mrs. Collins says
"Yes, you see I have it right here, a signed paper saying that we will not have any roommates other than the two of us due to medical issues," I say handing her the paper
"Oh yes I am sorry for the inconvenience, Have a nice rest of your day," She said and we shut the door
" I can't wait till their whole group leaves" we heard her mutter on the other side which caused Caitlin to say
