In the darkness of the night,
Your spirit shone so bright
I had to close my eyes,
To shield myself from your light. But even then,
Your radiance outshone mine,
And I couldn't help but feel
A twinge of sorrow inside.I followed your lead,
Thinking I could match your glow,
But that was not the path for me
I had my own light to show.I wandered through the shadows,
Lost and full of doubt,
Trying to find my own way
And figure my own route.I stumbled and I fell,
But I got back up again,
For I knew deep down inside
I had a light within. It may not shine as brightly
As yours did that fateful night,
But it burns with its own fire
And guides me through the fight.I learned to embrace my own light,
To let it shine so true,
For in the end, it's not about
Outshining someone new. It's about finding your own path,
And letting your spirit soar,
For when you do, you'll find
That you shine even more.So thank you for the lesson,
For showing me the way,
But now I walk my own road
And let my brightness stay.
