Meanwhile, elsewhere on the island, Jonathan and Sammuelle remained paralyzed by terror in the presence of the eradicator. The tension in the air was almost palpable, fear clinging to them like a threatening shadow.
The woman approached them with an almost ethereal grace, and despite the situation, her voice was soft and calm.
"I recommend you leave as soon as possible," she uttered with serene voice, her words resonating in the tense atmosphere.
The woman continued on her path, disappearing into the shadows while Hawkins, Sammuelle, and the other soldiers remained paralyzed by fear and disbelief.
"Never in my life have I felt such fear. Is this what it feels like to be in the presence of an eradicator?" Sammuelle murmured to himself, his words filled with incredulity and fear.
With caution, the soldiers boarded the ship, but soon they were met with a gruesome scene. A putrid smell filled the air, and as they approached the bodies of the crew, they discovered horrified that they had been brutally murdered, their necks twisted at unnatural angles. The scene was shocking, and the ship, despite the violence, remained intact, like a silent witness to the tragedy that had occurred on board.
"She killed her men, but why would she do such a thing?" Sammuelle asked with a trembling voice filled with disbelief and horror at the scene.
"Do not touch them! Who knows what reason she had to commit such an atrocity!" Hawkins responded with a grave and somber voice, his words laden with warning and distrust.
Meanwhile, amidst the devastation and chaos, Hans found himself in a desperate situation. He had managed to infiltrate an enemy base, but his presence had not gone unnoticed. A gunshot rang out, and Hans fell to the ground, gravely wounded.
The soldiers approached him, but before they could react, Hans got up, his body regenerating before their astonished eyes. With fierce determination, he launched into attack, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in his wake as he fought to survive amidst enemy fire.
The soldiers attacked with renewed vigor, but they hadn't counted on Hans having taken four detonators from the bombs embedded in their bodies. With quick and precise movements, he activated the bombs, unleashing an explosion that consumed the enemy base and its soldiers.
Without a clear direction, he ventured into a village called Yuruparí, where he was welcomed by men who recognized his Mifdak military uniform.
"Captain Meyer! It's a relief to see you arrive," exclaimed one of the men with evident joy, his voice filled with gratitude and relief.
"It's good to see you, Captain. We thought you would never come to rescue us," added another, with a tone of hope and admiration.
Hans showed genuine concern for the fate of Captain Velázquez, whose life hung by a thread after an ambush that left them without medicine or hope.
The soldier led him to a small wooden cabin where they found Captain Velázquez wounded and faint.
"Hans? What a misfortune! I never thought it would be you who would save me," said Velázquez sarcastically, his voice filled with disbelief and surprise.
"I'm also glad to see you, Velázquez."
The interaction between them showed camaraderie and complicity forged in the heat of battle, their bond of comradeship and loyalty evident.
"And your battalion?" Velázquez asked, confused, his voice filled with concern for his men.
"Velázquez, you know how I work."
Hans's response was a reminder of his determination and commitment to the mission; each life lost in battle weighed heavily on him. After attending to the wounded soldiers, Hans and Velázquez set off southeast on the island, hoping to find their allies and continue the fight against enemy forces.
Hawkins and Sammuelle emerged from the turbulent waters and were met with a sight that defied all logic. Crab Beach, once a tranquil and serene place, was now engulfed in the chaos of war. The landscape was marked by the shattered remains of ships, and the distant gunfire filled the air.
"Jonathan... do you see that over there?" Sammuelle asked, his voice filled with amazement as he pointed towards the coast with an agitated gesture.
"We've arrived just in time!" Hawkins exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the gigantic allied army in the distance.
With Lung's reception, Hawkins's grandfather, tension reflected in their faces. His words reflected relief at finding his grandson alive, but also bitterness for the losses suffered.
"You must improve your leadership; many of our men died because of you," Lung reproached with disappointment in his voice, pointing out the consequences of Hawkins's decisions on the battlefield.
"I don't care about your complaints, you old fool!" Hawkins responded, his voice full of anger and frustration, revealing the underlying tension between them.
The momentary calm was lost when enemy troops advanced from the buildings towards Crab Beach, and the scene turned into a full-fledged battlefield.
