• DAY ONE OF OUTBREAK •
It was the first day since the outbreak started Alexis, sat in the back with Sam. She was so hungry and so bored. Not just that she still hasn't told Sam, that she found out she was pregnant with his child. It was already dark outside and the traffic never had moved. Shane gets inside the car and he turns on the radio. But nothing was coming on air about what was happening. Alexis, sighed as she got out of the car. She was feeling irritated and she was feeling sick. As she got out helicopters flew by them.
She walked over to where Carl and the little girl known as Sophia were playing some board game. "Are we gonna go soon?" Sophia asked her mother. "I don't know, baby. I sure hope so." She told her as Alexis, walked over to Carl. "Are you okay, little man?" She asked the blue eyed boy. "Yeah, just a little hungry." He told her as she nodded her head. "Yeah, same here." She told him as she looked over at the man smoking the cigarette. He reminded her of her father. "I'm hungry." Carl said turning to look at his mother. "I know, Carl. We all are." She told him with a sad look on her face. "Why don't I get him something to eat?" Carol offered Lori. "Ed's into all this survival stuff we've got enough M. R. E. S to feed a small army." She told the mother as she walked to the other side of their vehicle. "I'd sure appreciate it." Lori said getting off their car. "No trouble." Carol told her and carols husband follows after her. Alexis watched with a clenched jaw as he doesn't let her feed Sam's nephew. He definitely did remind her of her father. A piece of shit for sure.
Lori and Alexis looked at each other both hearing and looking at the woman apologizing to the man for trying to feed a child. Lori just walked away from them as Sam, walked over and grabbed her arm. "You okay?" Sam asked her as she looked up at the boyfriend. "Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled up at him. As he brought her into his chest her arms wrapped around his waist as she signed closing her eyes. "I'm pregnant." She told him and his hand rub stopped as she pulled away. "What?" He said as he frowned looking down at her. "I literally just found out this morning." She told him as he looked like he didn't know what to say. "Are you sure?" He asked.
Alexis nodded her head as he leaned down and looked into her chocolate brown eyes. "It's okay, we'll get through this." He told her as her eyes watered. She nodded her head and leaned up to kiss him on the lips softly. "I love you so much." She told him as they pulled away. "I love you too Alexis." Sam told her as she gave him a small smile at him.
"Ed must have forgot to pack those M. R. E.s I found these in my purse." Alexis heard Carol, tell Lori and Alexis softly scoffed at that. "It's all right." Lori told her. Lori turned to Sam and Alexis. "Hey, do you mind keeping an eye out on Carl for a minute?" She asked them and Sam nodded his head. "Shane and I are gonna go scout up ahead a little bit and see if we can find someone that knows what's going on." She told her son as she fixes her son's hair to the side. "I want to go with you." Carl told her. "Huh-uh." She denied him shaking her head. "Hey, we'll be back before you know it. Okay, little man, huh?"
