New Recruits

Maia and Janaya walked into the band room casually. "Hey Maia, er why are we in here?" Valerie said as she played with her blonde and black hair. Kimberley just shrugged and went back to her little marathon on her phone of Glee. "Well, I have to skip at least one class, cant let my Rep slip." Maia said as she winked at Janaya with a knowing smile. Harry was fidgeting nervously and pacing around the room, obviously having something on his mind. Harry couldn't believe how clueless these "new recruits" were, aka Valerie and Kimberley. Val used to just smoke in the girls toilet and Kim just wandered around school lonely. And he had to go meet someone.

"What's up Styles? Seem a bit tense. ." Maia said as she grabbed his arm to stop hin from pacing. "Oh its just that I, uh, I got a girlfriend over the summer and I'm not sure if I should skip this class because she is in it and...yeah." He said nervously in his slow, deep voice as he ran a hand through his dark curls. Harry looked up at Maia pleadingly with his green eyes and she nodded, her blue eyes showing a tint of a smie. "Finally Harry gets to be the one with a crush." Janaya said quietly to Maia and Harry blushed as he rushed out of the room with his bag. Valerie traced some of the many tattoos on her arms and looked up at Maia and Janaya, who just looked at each other and nodded.

"We're going out for a bite later, you guys in? I could stay for the beginning of the day, if I survive through Math" Maia said as she rolled her eyes. Valerie nodded and pulled kn her yellow hat, turning it backwards and putting on her shades. Valerie stood up and walked up to Maia. "Well I for one cannot survive Math so I will be back at the end of that." She walked out and Kimberley nodded at them, following Val. Janaya shrugged and pushed open the door, following the two as she and Maia headed for Math class with Mr. Payne.

"Good Morning class and welcome to the first day as seniors!! I'm sure a lot of you are glad to get out of here." Mr. Payne said excitedly as the class cheered and nodded in agreement. "Well, lets get on with the class then." He turned to the board and wrote down a couple starters problems for the class to do while he worked on some lesson plans. "So, Maia, how are we on this fine day?" A boy in the class whispered to Maia who, fortunately, wasn't paying any attention to him. She was on her phone, even though they weren't allowed in school, like all schools in this town. Maia never really payed attention in Math. Neither did the rest of the class.
