luna martinez

"aw look at the soon to be graduates!" gabby said as she watched the three of us walk into the living room.

"don't say that, luna is a little emotional about graduating" hector teased me as i glared at him. i was emotional about a lot of things.

"that and because i lost my bestfriend, but you know, i guess it happens" i said as i held back my tears but i know they could hear my voice shake.

"oh" gabby said as she held on to me. i smiled at her as marc wrapped his arms around me.

"at least you have marc" she said trying to make me feel better. i laughed slightly as marc nodded his head as he looked at the two of us.

"joao will visit soon won't he?" i asked her and she gave me a sad smile as she nodded her head.

"he will! he'll be at the graduation this friday" she said as i smiled. hector and marc raised an eyebrow at me like i was forgetting to tell her something.

"luna has to do a speech for graduation" marc said. i remembered. my heart dropped for a moment.

"oh god, i have to do a speech" i said groaning into marc's arms as they all laughed at me.

"it won't be too bad, you can always ask isabel for help. she was valedictorian" she said as she pat me on the back.

"wait, is that why you have to do a speech? you got valedictorian?!" gabby asked as she looked at me. i shrugged. it was but i was keeping it a secret.

"i don't think they have those here, i just got like top ten of my class" i said as i shrugged. she looked at me confused.

"then why are you doing a speech?" she asked me. i shrugged.

"they asked me to" i said as i leaned back on the couch. marc leaned on me as we cuddled.

"it's because she got along with a lot of our teachers." hector said as he drank his water. i nodded my head.

"a real teachers pet. plus, you guys were always gone because of training or matches" i said as i looked at gabby, who as on her phone.

"true," marc said as i nodded my head. i played with his hair as we all watched whatever show gabby had on the tv.

"did they at least tell you what the speech was going to be about? i can't find anything about it" gabby said as she turned off her phone.

"appreciation, i think it was" i said, lying. it was because i got first in class but i wanted it to be a surprise for everyone.

"oh, so you're basically just talking about how much you appreciate the graduates or?" she asked. i looked at her, nodding my head. i couldn't wait for their faces.

"gabby, i have no idea. i'll just write something down and roll with it" i said as i closed my eyes. i was already going to stress about the speech.

"weird" she said quietly as we heard the front door open.

"home" isabel said as she walked into the living room. she smiled at all of us.

"hi" we all said back to her. she sat down at one of the chairs.

"what are you guys doing? how was school?" she asked as she rested her legs on the couch.

"it was good," hector said for us as we all agreed with him.

"luna has to do a speech for her graduation" gabby blurted out. isabel sat up straight as she looked excited for me.

"woah! a speech? wow, what are you valedictorian?" she asked me as she sat up straight.
