Ruhi was rushed to Max Hospital, where she was admitted by the doctor in charge, who happened to be very young. A team of top doctors was assembled to attend to her. Others present were bewildered, unaware of what had just happened.
Only Ruhi's mother, Mrs. Anjana Agarwal, knew the reason behind her daughter's actions. She refrained from contacting her husband, fearing it would only worsen his anxiety. Kabir arrived at the hospital within 30 minutes, finding a few other individuals there. Anxiously, he inquired of his mother, "What happened?" She told him everything that had happened.
"Mom, she must be crazy. Why would she do that, despite having everything?" he exclaimed.
"Slow down, everyone is here, they will hear you" she cautioned him.
"Listen to me, Mom. First, we have to send these people away; when the doctor asks, this might cause us significant problems. I'll ask them to leave. Please help me with it." Anjana nodded.
Kabir then addressed the visitors in a gentle tone, "Hello, Uncle. I am Ruhi's brother. Our family is here now, so it's best if you all head home. Thank you for your assistance."
"Sure, beta. But please conduct the investigation properly. I think there might be someone who was present on the terrace."
"Sure, Uncle. By the way, thanks to all of you for helping my mom."
They all left.
After few hours, the doctor and nurses emerged from the operating room.
"Doctor, how is Ruhi?" Anjana asked, her voice tinged with anxiety.
"Due to the severity of her head injury, she will need to remain in the ICU ward for some time," the doctor informed.
"By the way, what happened to her? I don't think so, someone pushed her? And besides she was totally drunk while falling." the doctor inquired further.
"Her leg slipped from the peak of the terrace. She always went for a walk on the terrace and she came from party she drank 2-3 sips only at party," Kabir replied anxiously.
"I understand. We will continue her treatment in the morning then," the doctor said before departing.
Kabir and Anjana exchanged glances and sighed in relief.
The next morning.
Dr. Drake Lee visited the ICU ward to check on Ruhi's condition.
"It appears she will make a recovery within two days. Nurse, where are her family members?" Dr. Lee inquired.
"I'm not sure, doctor. I saw them last night, but when I arrived this morning, they were nowhere to be found," the nurse replied.
"I see. That seems unusual. Typically, parents inquire about their child's condition and ask when they can visit, also used to wait until their child regain conciousness" Dr. Lee remarked, feeling a sense of concern.
