CHAP-9 GUARDIAN ANGEL

Your Parents can't be your "Guardian" all the time.
Sometimes, it's a stranger who became your Guardian and whenever you're with them, it feels like you're with family!

"What?" Dr. Lee exclaimed in shock."You heard me right!" I said.
"Yeah, I heard but that's impossible. No doctor can do this thing. Sorry but I can't do that." Dr. Lee stated.
"Then I'll find my own way. Maybe I'll jump from this window. How does that sound?" Pointing towards room window I said.
"See, You can't do that. I'll find a way. Okay?" Dr. Lee assured me.
"Fine. You have until tomorrow morning. But I don't want you and your staff to inform anyone that I've regained consciousness, otherwise you already know what will happen to me," I threatened him.
"Okay. Fine. I assure you won't need to do that," Dr. Lee replied and after that he left.
Despite falling from the 4th floor, I regained consciousness. I can say Dr. Lee is too good for me. I mean, he makes me alive. However, I'm still don't want to live. I explained to him that I felt I had no other options, no way to walk or run anywhere, but he didn't listen to me.
Nevertheless, I have faith in him. He's incredibly intelligent, and dare I say, attractive. How does such a good-looking guy end up becoming a doctor? But who cares, I got a handsome and charming doctor-in-charge.
I've given him 24 hours to come up with a solution. I'm hesitant to inform my mom and Kabir that I've regained consciousness. It might sound irrational, but I know exactly how they'll react. They'll never let me leave the house, and my mom will probably hire a bodyguard and caretaker for me to watch my movements, which I don't want. It may feel me like I'm in prison and no girl want to be in prison, instead she want to be an independent. Also, I can't tell Dad about any of this. He might become worried about me.
Only Dr. Lee can understand my situation at present. He's young and seems to empathize with what I'm going through. And I feel connected with him too. I feel like I'm close to him like his little sister. Yeah I know, I may shout at him but I felt like regular fight between mature big brother and immature little sister. Also I didn't told him about anything, because it's too early. I'll tell him everything, when the right time comes.
As my thoughts were rushing, I heard the door to my room creak open.
"You startled me. I thought it was mom. So already got an idea?" I asked.
"No, just a routine check-up," Dr. Lee replied.
"Hey, by the way, how long have I been here?" I inquired, realizing I hadn't checked the time because I couldn't find my phone. I think Kabir has it.
"About 3 or 4 days, I'd say."
"Ohh I see. You know, I was thinking about you," I continued.
"About me? What were you thinking?" Dr. Lee asked curiously.
"If you find me a way, I'll find you an amazing and sexy girlfriend. Or maybe I could be.... You know," I started flirting. I know he is like a brother to me, but I can't miss the chance to annoy him. Ruhi Agarwal never misses an opportunity, to flirt with handsome guys.
"No thanks. And stop flirting with me."
"Yeah, I'm not at all interested in flirting with you. Because I feel some brother-sister relation in between us."
"Really? So, let me be your Big brother," he flinched.
"No way. I don't want brother," I Ireked.
"You know Ruhi, no one knows, but I already have a girlfriend," Dr. Lee murmured.
"Oh really? Then she must be lucky," I amazed he's having a girlfriend. I thought this good looking guy must be single.
"Yeah she is."
"So, when can I meet her?" I thought he may be beating around a bush, so I asked."You want to meet her?"
"Yes, I want to."
"Alright, once you're fully recovered and your treatment is complete, I'll introduce you to her."
"Great! What's her name, by the way?" Pfffttt. He's actually mingle dude.
"Ruhi."
"Not mine I'm asking about your girlfriend you idiot."
"That's what I said. Her name is Ruhi Mathew, And how can you say 'Idiot' to your doc."
"Okay chill, I'll never say that again. And oh my god really, is her name is also Ruhi? I'm too excited to meet twin name person. I will recover as soon as possible, but you have to find a way, I don't want to go Agarwal's house. If I go, then I'll make sure the next day will be my funeral."
"Calm down, I'll find a way and help you succeed in your career. Right now, just focus on your recovery."
"Sure. Wait a sec. How did you know that I'm doing this for my career?"
"I...," he wated to say something, but as I'm talkative once I became close to someone so I interrupted and said, "And I apologize for being rude earlier. I didn't want my mom and brother to find out that I've regained consciousness because if they do, they'll start arranging blind dates again the very next day. And I don't want to get married until I've established my career."
"I already knew that they want you to get married and you wanted to pursue your career first. I overheard their conversation."
Ohh God! This person already knew my half of the problems of my life. My mom want me to get married, but seriously her daughter is admitted in hospital and what she wants now, to get her married? Where, in hospital? I gritted my teeth. Dr. Lee saw me and immediately change the topic.
"And by the way, what did you want to do?"
"I want to be a businesswoman. I plan to pursue an MBA and start my own business."
"Great choice. Okay then I will think about it what we can do. Nurse, please bring lunch for her, and don't inform anyone that she has regained consciousness. It should remain confidential until I give the order."
"Okay, Doctor," she replied and left the room.
"Take care. If you need anything, just press this button," Dr. Lee said, handing me his watch after nurse left.
"Sure, thanks for that," by saying that, he left the room.
Dr. Lee has been incredibly helpful to me. I feel blessed to have him by my side, like a guardian angel and a big brother. However, I shouldn't trust anyone too easily.
Lost in thought about my next step, the day passes by quickly. The following morning, during Dr. Lee's routine check-up, I asked him if he has any ideas. Unfortunately, he shook his head in displeasure.
I didn't utter anything because I know it will be difficult, we'll have to take careful steps considering everything from all sides.
And that day completes too. I can't help but feel anxious about what the future holds. What if Dr. Lee gives up or sides with my family?
As night falls, I drift off to sleep, only to be awoken by someone entering my room. I opened my one eye. Initially, I assume it's my mom, but it's unusual for her to be up at this hour, as it seemed to be the middle of the night. My eyes closed, I sense something isn't right. It could be Dr. Lee, but why would he be here now? Perhaps it's one of his staff, but they usually enter with more noise. Despite my growing fear, I remain still, refusing to open my eyes.
