8:35amLyric's POV
Late once again, I frantically put on my outfit.
I'm stuck between showing up late and calling in sick.
I've had way too many sick days though so that's out.
I finished putting on my dress, grabbed my bag and keys and ran downstairs and out the front door before locking it.
My father had already left, so I secured the doors and grills before going to my car.
I got inside, put my bag on the passenger seat, and turned on the ignition while mumbling a word of prayer and fastening my seat belt.
Another day at Manchester High.

After driving into town, I stopped at my favorite breakfast place, Juicy Patties. I went inside, and to my surprise, there was a long line.
Dem people yah nuh have work fi go?
It came as no surprise that some of my students were among those waiting in line.
Checking the time, I saw that it was twelve minutes to nine. As usual, I will be extra late this morning.
Fi late a one thing but late and hungry is a no no! A coulda 10 o'clock tonight me nah leff yaso till me get serve.
