Lyric's POV
I used the fork to toss the food around the plate as I pressed the button for the second time in less than a minute.
A few minutes passed before the door slowly opened revealing a man, different from the one that had brought me breakfast earlier.
"Mi hungry," I spoke as he entered, looking at the plate of unappealing food.
Bare vegetable inna di midfield and mi nuh nyam vegetable.
"The food is right there ma'am," he pointed out.
"Where?" I lifted the plate, touching the area under it, feigning confusion.
He emitted a dry, unamused laugh before speaking, "I can't go against my boss's order."
"Yuh boss order yuh fi put roach inna mi food?" I questioned.
"There's no roach in the food ma'am."
He spoke calmly, his eyes on the plate."Hmm...." I rested my index finger on my cheek, pretending to be lost in thought.
"Let's play a game called 'Your word against mine' " I challenged.
"Give me a minute," he spoke before turning to exit the room.
Him fool eeeh.
Mi deevn have no proof.
'Maybe him boss unreasonable.'
Word.
I walked around the room, observing everything as I looked for some type of entertainment.
Di room just big and dead.
Minutes later, the door is shoved open and Rajawn steps in on his phone.
"That was my end of the bargain fam." His words were laced with a strong British accent.
Bombaat!
Banga tone?
He spoke with the same ease and precision as a born-and-bred Englishman.
