Alice Cullen was nothing but friendly just a bit spacey when they spoke. River didn't like how Jessica spoke about them to her and Bella and that proved her thoughts about it, but of course Bella had the benefit of the doubt for Jessica. So River was still giving her more of a chance than she wanted too.

It was the end of the school day and River was making her way back to the front office to meet up with her twin. As she was at the door a storm of bronze hair rushed out of the way, almost running her down and knocking Bella who was standing next to the door down in his wake.

Shocked, River helped her up asking "Who the hell was that bulldozing through the door?"

"Edward Cullen thinking I'm the scum of earth trying to change biology classes to stay clear of me for the end of time," Bella answered quietly.

"Alrighty then, well he sucks," River said. She kept hold of Bella's hand and walked into the offices, "Let's just give these dumb slips to her and get out of this place before Charlie gets home."

The pair left the school building, eye's still following their every move as they drove away. River was still so shocked by what Bella told her that it was a silent ride back to their house. She did not have any clue as to why Edward was acting like Bella was his mortal enemy. But there was nothing she could really do to fix this, if there even was any fixing needed. Sometimes people just suck and that's how they are, but she knew Bella was going to at least try and talk this out with him. Bella wasn't always confrontational with people, but when they get really under her skins she does say something.

Tonight they were meeting Charlie at the local diner where he had said he goes every Thursday, yet today was special for the girls. She was glad to be spending some time with their dad, even if it was eating some greasy diner food and the whole of the town staring at their table.

The waitress was talking to them as they sat, "I just can't get over how big you two have gotten, and so gorgeous too," a sweet nostalgic smile on her face remembering the two as kids running around. However that was interrupted when some older man called over their attention asking if they remembered him playing santa one year, clearly they did not.

"Yeah, Waylon, they haven't had a Christmas here since they were four," he deadpanned.

Waylon only laughed before saying, "Well at least I made an impression?"

"You always do," Charlie said.

"Buttcrack Santa?" The waitressed added in with an odd look.

"The kids always loved those little bottles though!" Waylon said in another attempt to seem amusing before Charlie called him off for the sake of everyone else.

Their food arrived shortly after that and River watched the other two reach for the ketchup, seeing the awkward glance they shared she couldn't help but laugh. They then looked at her as Charlie gave Bella the ketchup with a small smile gracing his face.

"I swear you both are going to be the death of me," River told them with another laugh slipping out.

"Shut up Riv," Bella giggled taking a fry from her sisters plate waiting for her reaction.

"No, that truly sealed the deal Bell. Stealing my food? You're crazy for that," River spoke dramatically grinning like a madman.

Other than the few fries stolen and the odd encounter with the locals, the Swans had a nice time. When they got home the girls went upstairs to Rivers room to call their mother, Bella had said she was spamming her email like crazy the last couple days.

River sat listening with Bella as their mother kept talking about Phils baseball adventures.

"If spring training goes well we could be in Florida for awhile, moving there officially," she said in the last minute before the pay phone told her to insert another coin.
