19- Challenge Accepted

Summary: The sports festival commences, and Shoto not only challenges Izuku, but you as well.

Ida ran around yelling about how the event was about to begin.

I could feel my heart thumping harshly in my chest.

"I wish I could have worn my costume," Ashido says beside Y/n as they sat at one of the prep room tables.

"Me too. I'm kind of screwed if I need my inhaler," Y/n scratches her head nervously.

Her bandages were still on and still slightly constricting her head movement...I'm surprised she hasn't taken them off yet.

She's probably still a little self conscious about the scar.

Which is completely understandable.

"Midoriya," the stone cold voice of Shoto Todoroki said from behind me.

"Todoroki? What- what is it?"

A few people around the room stopped what they were doing to watch the scene unfold. Ho boy...

"Objectively, I'm way stronger than you. More capable."

Y/n stood up, confused.

"What the hell, Shoto?"

I gulped. "Uh... okay..."

"All Might's kept a close eye on you, hasn't he?" He narrowed his eyes. "I won't pry, but I will beat you."

Y/n gasped lightly.

I swallowed thickly.

"Oh, ho ho! Good luck with that one, Midoriya!" Kaminari said.

Y/n sighed and walked forward, about to interject.

I beat her to it.

"Todoroki, I don't know why you felt the need to say these things, I clearly know you're stronger than me, everyone here does. In fact, I'm not as strong as most everyone here..." I started.

"Dude, don't be so negative!" Kirishima said, waving his hands from somewhere behind Todoroki.

"But... Everyone is aiming for the top today. And I'll say this straight...I won't be falling behind. I'll be up there too. With everything I've got!" I finished, accepting his declaration.

"Right. And you, sister," He looked at Y/n and her head perked up.

"I hope you know I won't be going easy on you, either. This is a competition for the best. I expect you to use your all on me, too," he said firmly, walking right in front of Y/n.

She smiled, not backing down.

"I wouldn't expect any less. Challenge accepted!"
