Bob and Lucius sit in Lucius's sedan, parked in a run-down city neighborhood. A portable police scanner sits on the dashboard, volume low, occasionally interrupting their conversation.

"So now I'm in deep trouble, I mean, one more jolt of this death ray, and I'm an epitaph. Somehow I manage to find cover, and what does Baron Von Ruthless do?"  Frozone asked.

Bob laughed, "He starts monologuing--"

"He STARTS MONOLOGUING! He starts, like, this prepared speech about how feeble I am compared to him, how inevitable my defeat is, how the world will soon be his yadda yadda yadda--"

"--yammerin'--"

"YAMMERIN'!! I mean, the guy has me on a platter and he won't shut up!"

The police scanner crackled with updates in the background.

"Municiber, we have a 23-56..."

"23-56, what is that? A  robbery?" Bobs asked.

"This is sad," Lucius said, shaking his head.

"Yeah robbery. Wanna catch a robber?" Bob excitedly asked.

"No, Tell you the truth, I'd rather go bowling. Look, what

if we actually did what our wives think we're doing? Just to shake things up." Lucius suggests.

They sit in silence for a bit until Lucius breaks it.

"What are we doing here, Bob?"

"We're protecting people," Bob said seriously, before taking a sip of his drink.

"Nobody asked us."

"You need an invitation?" Bob retorted.

"I'd like one, yes. We keep sneaking out to do this and--" Frozone paused, thinking. "--remember Gazerbeam? He had trouble adjusting to civilian life, too."

"Yeah, there was something about him in the paper. When was the last time you saw him?" Bob asked.

"I don't see anyone from the old days, Bob. Just you. We're pushing our luck as it is. It was fun the first time, but we keep doin' this and--"

The scanner squawked suddenly. "We have a report of a fire at Fourth and Elias."

"A fire! We're close! Yeah, baby!" Bob exclaimed, pulling a ski mask over his face. Lucius shook his head at his own complicity and did likewise.

"We're going to get caught," Lucius stated as he started the car and made a U-turn toward the fire.

Bob's enthusiastic shouts echoed off the darkened buildings as the sedan peeled off, followed a beat later by the mysterious blonde in the black sports car.

Int. apartment building - minutes later

A raging inferno. Bob descended the burning steps and stopped in the hallway. Both he and Frozone carried several passed-out apartment dwellers on their shoulders.

"Is that everybody?" Lucius asked.

"Yeah, that's everyone!" Bob confirmed.

The building began to collapse. They were trapped with no way out. Frozone tried to ice the burning walls, but his ray was weak and ineffective.

"Can't you put this out?" Bob asked.

"I can't lay down a layer thick enough! It's evaporating too fast!" Lucius replied.
