It is Wednesday afternoon. Marta, Jacqueline, William and I are in our English class. Mr. Median is passing out our test."Decent effort by most [handing back tests] Good effort by some, exceptional effort by six. Miss Geller, Miss Grant, Miss Benoit, Miss Martinez, Mr.Anderson, and Ms.Hayden Gilmore. Ms. Graham. Miss Gilmore. Take these home, and learn from your mistakes. Look at the large red circles around various parts of your paper as friendly reminders that error is human. And that here at Chilton we try to beat that humanity right outta ya! Ok, next up. The test - the dreaded test. Shakespeare! The man we've been droning on about for the last three weeks finally comes back to haunt us on Friday. This is a big one my friends - multiple choice with an essay section that will count for 20% of your grade for this semester. And don't be fooled by my kind face and charming personality. This test will be hard, and there will be no makeup. [bell rings] Refer to the study materials that I gave you at the beginning of the month and those extensive notes I know you've been taking." Mr. Medina said. I got another A+. I see Marta and Jacqueline got an A and William got an A+. "The A squad again. I know that without Vi's note, we would have been done for." Marta said. "Without a doubt." Jacqueline said. "Toria, your notes are a God sent." William said. "I am just glad that you guys took my help when I offered it." I said as I walked pass Rory's desk. I noticed she got a D. "Hard paper." Paris said. "Killer." Louise said. "How'd you do?" Paris asked. "A." Louise said. "Me too." Paris said. "Oh small world" Louise said. "Isn't it? Madeline what'd you get?" Paris asked. "You know I got a B." Madeline sakd. "A B's not bad." Paris said. "Oh not at all." Louise said. "Respectable even." Paris said. :I'd be proud." Louise said. "A D' however, that would be cause for concern." Paris said. "A cry for help." Louise said. "A job application at McDonald's." Paris said. "Would you like fries with that?" Louise said. "Hey, you know, not everybody can be smart. As my mother always says, somebody has to answer the phones." Paris said. "Ok, I have no idea what you two are talking about." Madeline said. "No, but Rory does." Paris said as she walks away. "If I ever got D, I would so depressed. I wouldn't be able to function." I said as Rory passed us. We left to head to our next class.
After school we headed to ours waiting for us. Each of us have drivers. All for the same reason safety.
Omination POV:
"We are gonna be focusing on Elizabethan literature. Shakespeare, Marlowe, Bacon, Ben Jonson, John Webster -" Mr. Medina said. "Yeah, is Marlowe really that significant?" Mr.Keliz asked. "Well we wanna give as complete an overview as possible." Mr. Medina said. "Yes but will the be included on the Advance Placement test?" Mrs. Holtz asked. "Well we can't know exactly what will be on the AP test, but it will definitely be important for future studies when your kids hit their universities." Mr. Medina said. "But to get there, they need to pass the AP test." Mr.Keliz said. "Right, well it's all important and it could all be on the test." Mr. Median said. "How do we find out?" Mrs. Shales said. "Well you can bribe somebody on the AP committee [parents start to discuss amongst themselves]" Mr. Medina said. "I was just kidding. I'm just kidding." Mr.Medina said. "Bribing the committee is not necessary. The wife of head of the committee is in my D.A.R meeting, and she tells me he will take a bribe if it is cigars from Cuba." Emily said. "I'm so sorry. I had this terrible pot hole incident. And - you don't care. Please go on." Lorelai said as walks into a globe. "Whoa, whoa." Mr. Medina said. "What in the world?" Lorelai said jokely. No one laughs. "You ok?" Mr. Medina asked. "Uh huh. I'll just sit now." Lorelai said. "I don't think we've met." Mr. Medina said. "Oh, I'm Lorelai Gilmore - Rory's mom." Lorelai said. "Glad you could join us. [to parents] Rory is one of our new students." Mr. Medina said. "How nice. Now the AP test -." Mrs. Holtz said. "Right well, we are preparing them as best we can [Lorelai serving herself some coffee]" Mr. Medina said. "I've hired a tutor for Bethany. Victoria has offered her help in tutoring. Emily, you have raised a brilliant, compassionate young lady." Mrs. Barnes said. "Thank you. That is our Victoria." Emily said. "Always a valid option. I believe Victoria is also giving tutoring lessons for the finals. Victoria is a great kid, she help any one who needs help." Mr.Medina said. "Mmm. Jesus, Mary, Joseph and a camel [whispers] This is really bad coffee. [louder] So this AP test, what are we going to do about it huh?" Lorelai said. "Well the next test is scheduled for next month, um, the 25th, Saturday at 7:00 am. [Lorelai raises her hand] Ms. Gilmore?" Mr. Medina said. "Uh, where is the test?" Lorelai asked. "It will be given here." Mr. Medina said. "Here." Lorelai said. "Right." Mr. Medina said. "Great." Lorelai said. "Great, any other questions?" Mr. Medina asked. "Yeah, um, can parents come?" Lorelai asked. "What?!" Mrs.Holtz said shocked. "Yeah, it's a big exciting test. I just thought - I'm sorry is that stupid?" Lorelai said. "No it's not stupid." Mr. Medina said. "I just thought I'd like to see the excitement." Lorelai said. "It's a test." Mr. Richardson said. "Yeah I know." Lorelai said. "What's exciting about a test?" Mr. Richardson asked. "Do you play golf?" Lorelai said. "Yes I do." Mr. Richardson said. "You explain yours, I'll explain mine." Lorelai said. "Ok, why don't we get back to the meeting." Mr. Medina said. "That's the one who voted for the scrunchies." Mrs. Holtz said to Mrs. Shales. "Must be a scholarship student." Mrs. Shales said. "Um excuse me." Lorelai said. "You know, I think this would be a good time for a break. There's coffee in the back." Mr. Medina said. Emily walks to back to get more coffee. She keeps thinking something is going on with Lorelai and Mr. Medina for sure. Lorelai went to hit the moms. "What were you gonna do - hit her?" Mr. Medina said. "No, I just - I had some good verbal comebacks ready." Lorelai said. Lorelia takes sips of her coffee. "It - it just keeps getting worse." Lorelai said. "Well you know not drinking it is always an option." Mr.Medina said. "Not in my world." Lorelai said. "I'm Max Medina." Mr.Medina said. "Nice to meet you." Lorelai said. "I apologize for the behaviors of some of our guests tonight. It's a tense time for some people." Mr.Medina said. "The SAT season?" Lorelai said. "The waking hours." Mr.Medina said. Lorelai giggles at that. "Hey, are you this nice to my kid?" Lorelai said. "Yeah, it's easy. Rory's a sweet girl. Victoria is an amazing girl. She is so smart for her age." Mr.Medina said. "Yeah she is, she is." Lorelai said. Mr.Medina pulls Lorelai aside. "How is she liking Chilton?" Mr.Medina asked. "Oh, she loves it." Lorelai said. "Really?" Mr.Medina said. "Oh yeah. I mean it's an adjustment of course, but she's always wanted to go to Harvard and this is how she'll get there." Lorelai said. "Harvard? Not Yale, like Victoria." Mr.Medina said. "Yeah. Ever since she could crawl, I've really wanted her to go there." Lorelai said. "It's a great school." Mr.Medina said. "I actually bought her a Harvard sweatshirt when she was 4, which of course was way too big for her, so she used it as a blanket for a while and then as a make shift diaper on this really ill-fated shopping trip and now I've told you a story that would so mortify her, she'll k*ll me when she finds out you know." Lorelai said. "Don't tell her then. It'll be our secret." Mr.Medina said. "Well I appreciate that." Lorelai said. "So are you a B-52's girl?" Mr.Medina asked. "What? [looks at her shirt and giggles] No, I'm a klutz girl who should not drive with a coffee in her hand. I, uh, had it in the car." Lorelai said. "You know I hope Rory adjust to this place. We need her here." Mr.Medina said. "Thank you. That's so nice." Lorelai said. "And I hope she's not too disappointed about her paper. Because it's very hard to catch up on all that reading material. I know a D' seems pretty dismal -." Mr.Medina said. "Rory got a D'?" Lorelai asked. "Yeah, but -." Mr.Medina said. "She's never gotten a D'." Lorelai said. "It's the first paper she's had to turn in, she's bound to falter a little." Mr.Medina said. "Oh man, this totally explains the no ice cream' thing. God I'm such and idiot!" Lorelai said. "The ice cream thing?" Mr.Medina asked. "Look, I-I've gotta go." Lorelai said. "Well I'm sorry if I've said something to offend you." Mr.Medina said. "Oh no-no-no-no. It's just that if Rory got a D', she's not feeling too good right now and I'd really like to be there." Lorelai said. "I understand." Mr.Medina said. "So, it was nice meeting you." Lorelai said. "You too". Mr.Medina said. "Um, keep up the good work." Lorelai said. "I will." Mr.Medina said. "Don't ever make coffee ever again." Lorelai said. "I won't I promise. Oh -." Mr.Medina said. Lorelai almost walks into globe again. "Oh, ha ha ha. Thanks. Bye." Lorelai said grabbing her purse. "Bye." Mr.Medina said. Emily stayed for the rest of the meeting. Thinking about Mr.Medina and Lorelai.
