It is has been four days since the formal and four days since the fight between Lorelai and Grandmother. Grandmother is on phone with Lorelai. Grandmother has decided to extend an invitation to Lorelai eventhough she is still mad at her.
Omniscient POV
"Independence Inn, Lorelai speaking." Lorelai said. "Lorelai." Emily said. "Mom, hello." Lorelai said. "I wanted to talk to you about the Christmas dinner this Friday." Emily said. "Ah, Christmas dinner." Lorelai said. "You forgot." Emily said. "Well mom, there's been a lot going on around here lately, your Christmas shindig's not exactly high on my list of things to obsess about." Lorelai said. "Well I'm sorry if the timing is bad Lorelai, but the world doesn't always revolve around you." Emily said. "Well thanks for the tip." Lorelai said. "Cocktails are at 6, dinner's at 8." Emily said. "I probably won't be there for cocktails." Lorelai said. "Why not?" Emily asked. "Because I have to work." Lorelai said. "You can't leave work early?" Emily said. "No I can't." Lorelai said. "Why not?" Emily asked. "Because it's not in my job description." Lorelai said. "Well then don't come." Emily said. "What?" Lorelai asked. "Don't come. It's obviously an enormous burden for you." Emily said. "Yeah but -." Lorelai said. "Just send Rory." Emily said."You're telling me not to come to the Christmas party?" Lorelai asked. "Well you're obviously too busy." Emily said. "I had the German measles in the 5th grade, I still had to show up to the Christmas party." Lorelai said. "Lorelai let's be honest here, I'm not too happy with you right now and I assume you're not too happy with me" Emily said. "My polka dot dress matched my face and still I had to sit through 12 courses." Lorelai said. "I am tired of forcing you to do all those terrible things that infringe upon your life and I do not have the energy to pretend that the way you treated my the other day was in any way acceptable." Emily said. "So you're uninviting me to Christmas dinner?" Lorelai asked. "Yes I am." Emily said. "Fine." Lorelai said. "Fine." Emily said. "Ok, anything else?" Lorelai asked. "I believe that's all." Emily said. "Ok well, great mom, it's been swell talking to you." Lorelai said. "Bye Lorelai." Emily said. "Bye." Lorelai said.
Victoria's POV
Fast foward to Friday night.
It is the Friday of the Christmas party. I am wearing my Santa dress to play the harp. It a red dress with white fur trim. And then for dinner, I am changing into my Christmas dress. It is a white long sleeve top with red skirt. Both are paired with red high heeled boots with white fur, Christmas bracelets, and candy cane matching earrings and necklace set. I have my hair up in simple bun. My makeup is very simple gold eye and lip glossed lips. I pin my Christmas tree brooch to my dinner dress. I quickly grabbed my gingerbread purse and put my phone and lip gloss. I quickly grabbed my coat and walked down the stairs.
"Oh Victoria, you look lovely in your Santa dress. Do you have our dinner dress laid out? I had Lawrence and Lance bring down your harp." Grandmother said. "Thank you, Grandmother." I said. "You are going to play Carol of the Bells?" Grandmother asked. "I am and additional song, Grandmother." I said.
